Chris Driedger - Calgary Hitmen (Ott '12)
 

Can someone who watches Driedger on a regular basis give me a report on how he's playing so far this season? Kid has good numbers (2.33GAA, .921sv%, 14-4-2) but I hate to judge just based off stats.

What are his strengths? Weaknesses? Things he must improve upon?

I've been to three Hitmen games this year. I don't really have anything to offer in the way of a scouting report, but I can tell you those numbers are reflective of his play, he's very good.

Seen him 3 times, been solid every time. Most regular watchers still probably aren't going to be great judges of goalie talent, myself included. I can only say he hasn't looked awful and he has kept them in the games I've watched.

I've seen him lots this year. Very technically sound, calm and smooth in net. I compare him to Cory Schneider, he himself likes Pekka Rinne and Carey Price. Prone to give up the occasional soft goal, but a solid looking prospect.

He compares himself to Cory Schneider too! Worked with Schneider's goalie coach this summer.

I agree. If the Hitmen didn't have him in net they would not be in the position in the standings they are in now.

I've o ly watched him I would two games but the guys I found is really solid positionally.

He's had a good year, but I disagree. There wasn't a chance for him to make that team, so no point in even inviting him. Atleast for a guy like Comrie, he potentially has a future with Hockey Canada at this event so that would have made sense from an experience perspective.

Kid's had a good year and is a good prospect, though. Not the most athletic goalie but fluid in his movements and good technical abilities.
