Loved this line when talking about his "unsustainable SH%"

The attitude of Ebeler reminds me of former Blue Jay John MacDonald when it comes to practice and pre-game warm-up. The guy did everything at game speed.

I'd hope that Jordan would be the type to help his teammates get better instead of just taking shots at them. If he is then that makes him that much more valuable to our club. I'd also hope that guys like Paajarvi, Pitlick, etc. would ask him for pointers and not just rely on him to approach them as ultimately it is their careers in the balance not his. That said not everyone has the insane stickhandling that he does to help facilitate many of those high % shots.

Awesome news, I have been clamoring for a LH PMD for some time. Hopefully he's a significant upgrade on Ringwald.

Looks like the kid has taken a big step forward this season, he'd be an ideal partner for a guy like Teubert IMO assuming that he is mobile.

With the Nuge gone for a month, I wonder/kind of hope, it's an opportunity to see Hall at center.

Ok, yes I know what I've said before, however trying him in the AHL at center is QUITE different then just writing him in as the 2nd line center in the NHL.

This will require Martindale and Pitlick both coming back from injury

They were both skating today, so I'm hoping that they aren't too far off from returning.

Groucho 12-03-2012 10:33 PM

Ahh I didn't know that, that's very good news

Davidson was also skating, however I wouldn't expect him to be returning anytime soon. Nonetheless it's nice to hear that he's back on the ice with the boys again.

Groucho 12-03-2012 10:39 PM

I saw the tweet that he was back on the ice, I'm surprised it's so soon.
I think Davidson is going to be okay, Phil Kessel is a feel good story about a guy in his situation.
Good to see though.
Nice to see Pitlick skating too, any time you hear concussion you always think the worst.

Pitlick likely to play this weekend.

Also Rajala back to Stockton.

The undervalued, and underappreciated Mark Arcobello says hi. He wil have to slot in somewhere, he's been the best outside of the big 4 and Hartikainen thus far this season.

I always forget to put him into my line ups as he's not really an Oilers prospect but you're right, he's been a big part of the club.

Hall doesn't want to play center at this point. Unless his mind has changed.

Many keep wondering why Taylor Hall hasn't been given a shot to play centre in OKC. Hall told me in the spring that he'd be open to the idea, but only if he could start training camp at centre. He wanted an opportunity to practice and get used to a new position which makes a lot of sense. Switching from wing to centre is not as easy as many suggest, and unless they are committed to him doing it for at least two months, I don't see the point in it. I think long-term Hall is a better fit on the wing.

smokersarejokers 12-04-2012 10:08 AM

Stauffer asked Todd Nelson about Hall playing centre yesterday, and he said probably not.

He said he'd proabably try Arcobello with Hall and Eberle.

Hall not skating again today.

I think they don't play til Saturday, so I'd assume we are seeing guys rest up. RNH isn't practicing is he?

I imagine RNH is staying in town/Red Deer until the selection camp gets underway on Monday.

Eberle wont be either, said on twitter last night he flew into regina so i would imagine Hall did something the same.

Was that it for Rajala? Or do you guys think there is a chance for him in the AHL when the NHL returns?

If the NHL comes back he'll be in the AHL in a heartbeat. He looked solid in his games in the AHL.

He'll be back at some point if the NHL returns. Unless he goes down to Stockton and plays horrible.

Yeah I completely forgot about him :shakehead

In light of that and Nelson saying that he isn't planning on moving Hall to C:

Hall-Arcobello-Eberle
Paajarvi-Lander-Hartikainen
Green-Martindale-Pitlick
Byers-Vande Velde-Hamilton
Cornet/Abney

joestevens29 12-04-2012 12:03 PM

How has Lander looked lately? I'm not asking about offense either as I don't ever see that being his game, but how are the things that he should be able to excel at doing?

He winning draws, battles, playing PK, smart decisions in own end?

Looks like Nuge won't be playing this weekend:

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=410935

I suspect (hope) that he's played his last game in a Barons' uniform.

Shanahanigans 12-04-2012 02:51 PM

Hall isn't skating because he has had a sore neck/neck issue the past couple of days. Per Tom Gazzola (Oilers main site writer ). Isn't serious according to him.

40oz 12-04-2012 04:12 PM

Looks like injuries aren't all the boys in OKC have to be worried about...
