Start/Sit Week 14 (Playoffs!)

Same question as last week from me.

Brandon Lloyd vs. HOU
Antonio Brown vs. SD
Justin Blackmon vs. NYJ
Kendall Wright vs. IND

Brown is the safe option for playoffs. The guy does it all. Catching, rushing, returning... He even threw a pick last week

theLongR0D 12-04-2012 09:25 AM

Woohoo got a first round bye this week. Good luck to all, see you next week

Pick 2:

Knowshon Moreno
Mike Wallace
Stevie Johnson
Kenny Britt

Johnson has the hammy, though I think he will play. Wallace has been worthless without Roethlisberger. Moreno and Britt are wildcards.

Also, I have Giants D (NO) and Packers D (Lions). Neither are real good matchups. Should I take the Pack or pick up one of these:

Pitt vs SD
TB vs Phi
Cleveland vs KC
Jax vs NYJ

==========

Other league in the playoffs:

Houston D (NE) or Jets D (Jax)? Houston's D has been amazing, but that matchup...

Cutler or Schaub? I expect Schaub will be more likely to be in a shootout, so leaning that way.

Boldin or Maclin for my flex WR? Boldin seems to be the safe bet, he usually picks up yardage, but Maclin is more boom/bust. Both have good matchups (Was and TB respectively)

My RB situation is still up in the air with McFadden's status uncertain, but I think either way I sit him. Tough matchup, they'll probably go away from the run very early once Denver gets a lead...

RedRenegade 12-04-2012 10:57 AM

Welcome to the big time boys! It's playoffs!

Pick one please:
Lance Moore @ NYG
Josh Gordon vs KC
Fitzgerald @ SEA

TLinden16 12-04-2012 11:27 AM

One more week till playoffs for me. I'm tied for 3rd, but due to tiebreaker for I am in 5th. I'm facing 1st and NEED this win and I NEED points, if 3rd/4th win it's going to come down to points for. I'm looking like I have a good chance.

QB (pick 1) - Luck vs TEN or Newton vs ATL
RB (pick 2) - Lynch vs ARI, Morris vs BAL, Bryce Brown @ TB
WR (pick 3) - Green vs Dallas, Shorts vs NYJ, Garcon vs BAL, Jennings vs DET, Moore vs NYG, Harvin vs CHI

DEF - Seattle vs ARI or Denver vs Oakland

I'm thinking of running Luck, Lynch, Brown, Green, Shorts, and Garcon/Moore. Seattle on D.

Thoughts?

Tough one.
Moore has had a great last 3 weeks. Should be a good shootout with the Giants.
Gordon's coming off a big week, although KC's defense isn't AS much of a joke anymore.
I wouldn't bother with Fitz due to Lindley

I'd go Moore personally. Consistency is key, and Gordon had 4 weeks of stinkers prior to last week.

Luck
RB is really tough...all are good options. Definitely Lynch. I'd lean Brown because I think he's more likely to get TDs since RG3 might take away goal line carries from Morris.
WR is obviously Green. Check on Shorts health, I think he got hurt towards the end of last game. I like Moore more than Garcon. Jennings and Harvin are too risky with their injury.

Defense is obviously Seattle. Any team playing Arizona is a good D matchup.

Pick 2 - PPR League:

(TE)Dallas Clark vs PHI
(TE)Brent Celek @TB
(RB)Jonathan Dwyer vs SD
(TE)Jared Cook @IND

tv14 12-04-2012 12:06 PM

First year of fantasy and I finished 9-4 and go into playoffs as 1st seed! My RB situation is ugly though.

1 RB:
Beanie Wells (@ SEA)
James Starks (vs DET)
Jacquiz Rodgers (@ CAR)
or I could pick up Vick Ballard or Donald Brown (vs TEN) - don't know which one though.

2 WR:
Steve Smith (vs ATL)
Marques Coslton (@ NYG)
Malcolm Floyd (@ PIT)
Sydney Rice (vs ARI)
Larry Fitzgerald (@ SEA)
Andre Roberts (@ SEA)

1 flex:
from above WR/RB

The order that the players are in, are generally the way I'm leaning right now, feedback is very welcome though!

If Rice is fine, go Smith/Colston/Rice and the back...that RB situation is pretty ugly. I'd consider Rodgers more likely to get to the end zone.

Ya Rice is playing good and just a question of health. As for my RB situation, McGahee was a big loss and due to me being high up in the standings I got beat to every waiver claim, so I've had to deal with what I have. Atleast I have Trent Richardson.

Shrimper 12-04-2012 02:52 PM

Finished the season with a 10-3 record. Bye into the semi-finals which isn't this coming week but who would you guys choose out of these any way?

Dillema in WR/RB:

Two RB spots between:

Adrian Peterson
Shonn Greene
Jonathan Stewart

Peterson is a cert so between Green and Stewart.

Three WR spots between:

Vincent Jackson
A.J Green
Lance Moore
Greg Little
Jeremy Maclin
Steve Smith

Thinking AJ Green, Vincent Jackson and Lance Moore.

I would go with that too.

MJG 12-04-2012 07:41 PM

Flex spot: Ridley, BJGE, Moreno, Jennings or Blackmon?

Tight end: Finley or Rudolph?

BillyShoe1721 12-04-2012 10:43 PM

RB(pick 2): Bryce Brown, Arian Foster, Vick Ballard, Beanie Wells, Ben Tate
WR(pick 2): Reggie Wayne, Jeremy Maclin, Antonio Brown, Danny Amendola
Flex: Pick 1 of the above that you didn't choose for RB/WR. I'm thinking Foster/Brown/Wayne/Brown/Ballard.

Blackmon stunk it up last week and has a bad matchup. Wright's pretty inconsistent and hasn't had a big game all year. Lloyd's just been terrible lately. Brown looked healthy last week and got 10 targets, so I'd roll with him.

Wallace is unstartable until Ben's back and plays a full week. Britt really hasn't done anything all year. Moreno's your best start here, followed by Stevie.

I like all of these options better. I think your best bet is the Browns. I like the Jets matchup but the Jacksonville defense hasn't scored anything this year.

Quote:

I gotta go with the matchup on this one. The Pats don't give up any points to defenses. You feel like with that mess in NY there's a pretty decent chance the Jags hold them under 10.

I'd say Schaub largely for the reason you mention.

Boldin's been significantly better than Maclin this year, so with both having good matchups I'd go Boldin.

Just can't start Fitz. Moore's the safer start (compared to Gordon) and has nearly the upside, so I'd go with him.

Tough call here. If you're projected to win I'd go Luck, and if you're projected to lose I'd go Cam. Cam has a higher ceiling but lower floor.

I am firmly on board the Brown train so I'd go him and Lynch.
Quote:

WR (pick 3) - Green vs Dallas, Shorts vs NYJ, Garcon vs BAL, Jennings vs DET, Moore vs NYG, Harvin vs CHI
Green obviously, Shorts has to get through concussion protocol and has a bad matchup, so you might have to sit him this week. Harvin is highly unlikely to play so he's out. I like Jennings now that he's got a week under his belt. I like Garcon moving forward, but Moore has the significantly better matchup, so I'd go with him.

Quote:

DEF - Seattle vs ARI or Denver vs Oakland
Both great options but AZ is really a mess, so I think you gotta go Seattle.

Dwyer for sure. Celek's the most consistent target so in a PPR I'd go with him.

Starks is done for the year (for fantasy purposes), so you can drop him for Ballard. Donald Brown left Sunday's game and might be out this week. If he is Ballard is a pretty good start, and if not I'd still lean him over Jacquizz.

Can't start either Cardinal. Colston is the best start of the bunch so he's in. I like Rice even though he'll likely have Peterson on him, but he got smoked at the end of the game Sunday and has to pass concussion tests this week. So for now I'd say go Smith with Floyd at Flex.

Ridley doesn't do well when he doesn't have a good matchup, so I'd sit him. BJGE has quietly had quite a productive year, and Bryce Brown ran all over Dallas last week, so I'd probably go with him. Moreno's still a bit of a gamble at this point. Blackmon's out. And while I like Jennings this week I'll always lean RB over WR.

Tight end: Finley or Rudolph?
Definitely Rudolph.

Flex: Pick 1 of the above that you didn't choose for RB/WR. I'm thinking Foster/Brown/Wayne/Brown/Ballard.

Brown and Foster no doubt. Amendola's pretty banged up so I'd sit him. Brown got 10 targets last week and SD is pretty bad, so I'd roll with him and Wayne. Then for your Flex I'd go with Ballard. It's a good matchup, and Brown's either out or banged up, so that should boost Ballard's production.

IslesRock4 12-05-2012 05:52 AM

Pick 2 RBs and 1 WR:

Fred Jackson vs STL
Montell Owens vs NYJ
Marcel Reece vs DEN
Beanie Wells @ SEA

Jason Avant @ TB
Mike Thomas @ GB

RBs continue to be a problem for me, especially with DMC coming back and Reece going to lose a lot of work. Beanie sucked last week and has a tough matchup, so I picked up Montell Owens who will start with MJD/Jennings/Parmele out. Thinking of him and FJax. WR is a total question mark. I also have Wayne and Austin but I've been rolling Titus Young (when he was playing) and then Ryan Broyles as my WR3 the past bunch of weeks. Not sure who is the better play out of Avant/Thomas.

As weird as it sounds im pretty concerned with Foster for the rest of the season. I have him with brown also and to be honest would think about starting brown instead of him (not getting as many carries) in your spot I think you still start foster with brown and Ballard as your flex, I'm pretty sure brown (Indy) is injured. I'd definitely go with Moore on this one. He's been playing great as of late, has Drew Brees throwing his way, and is facing a terrible Giants defense.

Fitzgerald is practically irrelevant this season.

Stafford easily. The guy has been putting up ridiculous numbers lately and getting himself in a shootout with Green Bay's porous defense will only add to his advantage.
