World Juniors

I would have thought someone would have started a post about this by now. What are your thoughts about the players chosen for camp & the ones left off the list.

There is a huge thread (or threads) at the top of the board. I guess we just never bothered starting one here.

Well, just for the OHL perspective... I'm disappointed Ceci wasn't invited. I don't think I'd have ultimately had him on my team, just because there are already enough offensive/PP weapons, and I really see that as the prime element he'd bring, where his skating and defense might not fit the elements the team is more likely to need. But despite not really seeing him making the team, I'd still have had him in camp... just in case. Suppose some other offensive element goes down to injury, or a few of the other guys are just so flat and Ceci stands out... it'd have been worth having him there as an option IMHO.

As always, I'm very surprised by certain players cut today! Thoughts???

Corrado was the biggest surprise for me. From everything I heard during the selection camp, and what I've seen of him this year, I figured he'd make the team.

The challenge is of course that although most posters on this OHL site know players in this league, and particularly their favorite team intimately (and obviously have a certain loyalty to them) we don't know players from the Dub or Q nearly as well so comparing same is nearly impossible.

Have to take the word of McKenzie on TSN who surmised last night Wotherspoon and Reinhart won out over Corrado for sheer size given the big line-ups to be dressed for Russia and Sweden.....presumably the two above also possess skating that won't make them a liability on the big ice.

We shall certainly see!

It will be interesting to see what happens to some teams losing there goalies. I believe six starting goaltenders in the OHL will be gone.

When was the last time this many OHL goalies made the World Juniors?
