Yasin Cissť

Former Quebec Midget AAA standout and Jets prospect Yasin Cissť has left BU to join the Armada.

He is a 20 years old forward that has good size, hits hard and has solid hands.

Anyone can comment on him? He's been injured in the past, which has really stopped his development. I definitely don't expect him to be a 1st liner in the Q right off the bat, but do you think he can contribute on a contending team on perhaps a 2nd or 3rd line?

What's his NHL upside?

I hope he'll do better than Philippe Hudon, who did a similar thing last year when he left USA to join Victoriaville. 5 points in 34 games last year and only 12 in 27 this year. Really disappointing.

Interesting that he wants to leave a great BU program. Maybe he feels he isn't getting enough ice time? As a 20 year I would hope he can handle top 6 duties as a pro prospect.

Like I said injuries have hurt him... he's barely played in the last 3 games, and as you said didn't receive a lot of ice time at BU.

He'll have top-6 ice time to start with Jevpalovs and probably Matteau out at the WJCs... let's see how he does. The Hudon comparison is good, both very similar players. Hopefully, Cisse will be able to produce a bit more.

I used to think the world of Yasin Cisse but he hasn't even played enough for me to care over the last few seasons.

He was a big powerforward that would require am F-150 to move him off the puck but after all these seasons off and so many injuries, I'll be very interested to see him suit up in the Q. I know why he went the College route but he was the type that would've benefited much more from the Q experience.

Odd timing given his age. I had completely forgotten about him until I saw the BC/BU matchup last week. Didn't stand out in the least. Seemed pretty uncoordinated actually.

In 4 seasons he's played 58 games lol he needed a change and its no wonder he was uncoordinated. He wasn't fitting in with BU so he's going to the Q and playing 30 games + playoffs in a pro like schedule before hitting up the ECHL/AHL

Any relation to Djibril?

So that's going to all of a sudden change with a more prominent role on a CHL team? We'll see.

Don't expect much at all. He was given a chance to play in the top 6 this year with Hohmann and Megan, and didn't do anything with it. The only reason he even got the chance was to make room for Hohmann and work the corners because Hohmann's a midget. He has size and can hit, but more often than not takes himself out of the play to finish a check. His hands are basically non-existent.

He play a similar style to Matteau but dosn't have the scoring upside. He'll fit in on the second or third line in BLB. Phil Hudon is a decent compairison but he'll find the game sheet more. Physical , hard worker, finishes checks, good size, good shot .

Cissť sent the following statement to The Daily Free Press Wednesday night:

"After reading Jack's comments I prefer to say nothing and just move on with my life. I wish my former teammates the best of luck this year and in the future. They're all beauties.

"I'm looking forward to being home and joining the Armada and continuing my studies in a Canadian university."

Wow, some of the comments the coach made. Classy

I see nothing wrong with what Jack Parker-a true coaching legend, said about Cisse. He was given every opportunity to succeed and failed.

5 months to go to get a BU degree, what a shame. He will regret that when he's older. He's probably not going to have much of a hockey career anyway.

He's speaking pretty frankly which is a rarity among coaches (or hockey people in general) but he didn't say anything I would label "classless". He praised Cisse numerous times as well.

He's moving to Montreal... There are some pretty good schools in Montreal.

I always expect Cisse to have white hair.

How dare he go home and play on a team that he might not be completely miserable playing for then... I mean if his hockey life is near over, why wouldn't he just stay at BU and hate every minute of it while plugs like yourself and his coach tell him he has no NHL potential despite being an NHL draft pick. He definitely won't have an opportunity anywhere else now that he left BU!

You're calling Jack Parker a "plug"? Who the hell are you?

Good luck to him. He's going to need it.
