Also known as the Fold in the North.

Yeah I just saw that. Typing dyslexia (3rd finger on left = 3rd finger on right)?

I wonder if we could get away with calling them Nor****. Because that's pretty much how you say it.

davidy2d 12-08-2012 09:25 PM

Kinda OT but Schultz just blew the game for the Barons.

What did he do?

Spicy Porkins 12-08-2012 11:07 PM

Tripped over his rookie of the century trophy.

Exit Dose 12-08-2012 11:20 PM

He is just giving Shea Weber a fighting chance to win a shot for Team Canada.

..still can't tell what he did?

snarktacular 12-09-2012 08:32 AM

From that video, Schultz just seems to be wandering around like crazy in the offensive zone. Unchecked. I guess Niedermayer used to do that sometimes, but it's not easy to pull off.

I think he's the guy at 2:10 that got beat.

Edit: Never mind, he was the other guy. I have no idea, either.

Lord Flashheart 12-09-2012 10:28 AM

I just posted a video, didn't claim anything. Just sayin'...

Interested in hearing your explanation as to how that play was in any way Schultz's fault.

Vinegar Strokes 12-09-2012 11:32 AM

Other than the pass being a little nonchalant, I can't see any glaring mistake from Schultz.

Still, I can't see how anyone can say he's anything more than Mediocre in the D zone. As Snark said, he's also waaay more active in the offensive zone than he will be in the NHL.

That being said, he's got some amazing offensive skills and it sucks he decided not to play for us.

maplehawk 12-09-2012 11:36 AM

The pass was fine. He took a lot off of it to ensure Marincin could handle it and chip it out. How Marincin butchered that pass like he did, I just don't know.

It was definitely on Marincin, don't know what david was watching.

Let's not start looking for and arguing over potential Schultz mishaps - at the very least when we aren't playing him. If the need to do so is there (which I hope is not the case), then a more general thread not dedicated to the Norfolk Admirals should be the way to go.

Everyone of us fans should listen to ADOPT A NHL PLAYER on you tube, this is very funny, but sadly enough very true, It put a new perspective as to how sad we fan are to be supporting these players and owners. Merry Xmas

As much as I wish it was, that wasn't Schultz' fault. #28 fumbled the pass. it was a clean pass but he didn't get the stick on it right.

hows holland and palmieri doing? have they improved? ready to make the step to our top 6 this/next season?

Exit Dose 12-11-2012 10:41 AM

Palmieri is in a bit of a scoring slump, but he's improved.

Holland has improved a lot. He's our best forward in Norfolk. Even when his line struggles he finds ways to create offense.

I'm certain both will come up when we have a season.

Pretty much. I could see Holland getting a third line start and if he does well enough I could see them maybe doing something like this.

Palmieri-Getzlaf-Perry
Ryan-Holland-Selanne
Smith Pelly-Koivu-Winnik

Watching Holland though, I still think even though he's consistently been the best forward there, I watch him play and I see even more potential in him. Like I see that he can still do better than effort he gives on every shift. If he can hit that potential, we're really going to like the value we got for him.

Plus it's nice seeing him outscoring guys like Couturier, RNH, (age difference I know), Kadri, Connolly, M. Foligno, Nyquist, Johansen, Silfverberg, and others. I mean this year's AHL is supposed to highlight a good chunk of incoming NHL talent and to see Pete up there at the top really does make me proud.

That's the lineup I've been wanting to see tried all offseason. I hope Palmieri can adjust to LW (because outside of Ryan we haven't had anybody with top 6 offensive ability with the twins since Kunitz was traded). Finding that fit for Getzlaf and Perry is going to be the hardest thing the coaching staff have if we ever get a season.

I think Holland is a lock as well as DSP. On D I'm guessing Lindholm is a lock as well to head to Anaheim.

Whats the 4th line look like in this scenario is Bonino 4th line center?

Paul4587 12-11-2012 02:46 PM

Cogs - Bonino - Beleskey. It has more skill than the average 4th line but lacks a lot in the way of size and snarl.

I'm not sure Lindholm is quite ready for the NHL and he doesn't really have a spot on the blueline anyway. The D is pretty much set with Fowler, Beauchemin, Lydman, Sbisa, Allen, Souray and one of the journeyman guys like Smaby/Guenin/Hendry sitting in the press box as the 7th guy. I guess we could see somebody moved but I think Lindholm is better off playing 20-25 minutes in the AHL learning the trade than getting third pairing minutes and virtually no special team time against NHLers.
