WWE bringing back mid-carders?

- Former WWE mid-card names could soon return to the company in the near future. There has been a push in recent weeks from several top talents in the company to bring back some former talents that were released but were also solid hands.

WWE management has taken the suggestion to heart as the company has been thin on talent as of late. Names that are being brought backe will be able to populate the mid-card and work with the younger talents to help bring them along and also provide some solid experienced workers to the show. There is a short list of potential names the WWE is interested in, but the company has not yet started to contact them. This process could start at any time.

I hope MVP is one of the names.

LOL

so it took them how long to realize that would be a good idea?

AfroThunder396 12-08-2012 02:07 PM

Who exactly would be available?

Scandale du Jour 12-08-2012 02:10 PM

I was thinking this myself.

I always thought it would be fun to sign Colt Cabana and have him form a stable. Turn Swagger face, team him with Colt and Alex Riley and have them do like a high school jock gimmick. They could wear varsity football jackets, get crew cuts, and just be your typical meatheaded jocks.

It wouldn't be a serious thing but I think it would be fun. Kinda like the 3MB.

WWE randomly posted a Colt Cabana (Scotty Goldman) video on YouTube, praising him. It was a random ass video. Maybe Colt Cabana could be finding himself in WWE soon, again? (I hope...)

Didn't Punk also hint at some good news relating to Colt a little while back?

Chris Masters would be awesome. Guy was turning into a great wrestler during his last stint.

Crimson Skorpion 12-08-2012 07:14 PM

Also, didn't Colt win a championship but then refuse it and go on to say that he wishes the company well on its future endeavours? That, mixed with Punk's comments and the YT video has me believing he could be on his way back. MVP would be awesome too.

Dr Pepper 12-08-2012 07:17 PM

Bring back Tajiri!

M.C.G. 31 12-08-2012 07:20 PM

im getting excited at the prospect of cabana possibly returning!

Not really, what happened was he had a match with Pearce that was meant to be for the NWA title but NWA wouldn't sanction the match so when he won the match he didn't take the belt because he wasn't really allowed to and he said he didn't want the belt because it's an organization stuck in the past and blah blah blah and then Pearce wouldn't take the belt either so neither of them took it.

What Colt said post match was far from wishing the company well haha.

Big Poppa Puck 12-08-2012 08:42 PM

I'd mark for MVP.

Can't think of anyone else who's not basically "retired" or old. Chris Masters maybe?

Shad Gaspard? Bring back Cryme Tyme?! :yo:

Why did they break up Cryme Tyme in the first place? They were a great tag team and would be legitimate tag team champs, IMO.

Morozov 12-08-2012 09:29 PM

At the time they seemed to think breaking up the tag teams they had was a good idea as opposed to trying to build a tag team division with them.

AfroThunder396 12-08-2012 09:57 PM

What are Shelton Benjamin and John Morrison up to nowadays? Still working the indy circuit?

M.C.G. 31 12-08-2012 10:03 PM

I can see john morrison being one of the guys coming back, actually.

You're right, it was Pearce that made the future endeavors line. Colt basically called the NWA board a bunch of morons and idiots that are too blind to see the future of pro wrestling.

If the WWE really is planning on bringing back a few people, Royal Rumble is the perfect time to do so.

Shelton (and Haas) work for ROH and JoMO is doing a show for Dragon Gate soon.

Doesn't seem like JoMo really does many appearances though.

I remember quite a few guys backstage were upset when he got released. I know Punk mentioned it on Raw. Guy was busting his ass for months to get better. Masters said he was really studying the technical and psychological aspects of wrestling and was putting on some really solid matches.

I remember an interview I read after he got released where he said Triple H actually pulled him aside after a show and said something like [paraphrasing] "Hey listen, I just want you to know that we see what you're doing and we really appreciate it. We're going to take you off TV for a bit, try to re-package you, and give you a decent push." And it never happened, they just ended up releasing him.

ColePens 12-08-2012 10:51 PM

Would Colt coming out at the Royal Rumble actually bring a pop? I don't think it would unless it's a mark town... but it'd be good. I think Bourne will be back at the Rumble, too.

Mid-card talent just needs written and developed. Give us a reason to care about a feud. They had something going w/ Gabriel and Cesaro but then we got R-Truth out of nowhere.

Crimson Skorpion 12-08-2012 10:56 PM

Imagine if the Rumble was in Chicago and Colt's theme blasted. Crowd would erupt.
