Attempt at a 2013 Mock Draft
Before I begin, let me just say that, as opposed to using the actual standings of 2011-2012 or applying the weighted lottery format used to determine the order of selection in the 2005 NHL entry draft, I simply wrote the names of each team on corresponding pieces of paper and drew them one at a time from a hat to determine the drafting spots.
2-Nashville=Barkov (Jones is extremely tempting, but I think Barkov is very close to him in terms of potential and fits their needs better)
4-Calgary=Monahan (scoring ability and two-way play)
8-Anaheim=Ristolainen (no specific weakness, they go BPA)
24-Columbus (Los Angeles)=Compher
26-Columbus (NY Rangers)=De la Rose
I would personally prefer Nurse or Zadorov over Lazar for Montreal. We need a big, physical D-man over a two-way center.
Seems accurate to me, Toronto approves of this mock draft.
I bet you must have been thrilled when you picked Toronto first overall.. :sarcasm:
At 30th overall I think Chicago would be tempted to take Eric Comrie or Spencer Martin.. I'd take Martin personally.
Morrissey = yes please.
Hunter Shinkaruk>Peter Holland
Hunter Shinkaruk former linemate + understudy of Emerson Etem
Emerson Etem anaheim duck 29 2010 pick
Duck pick Shinkaruk
i mentioned this in another mock draft that the Oilers will not take a goalie in the 1st round. they would take Domi, Gauthier, Burakovsky, Rychel or Haag before Fucale.
