Top 10 NBA Players of All Time
After reading this article I begun to wonder what my NBA top-10 would look like. I think I agree almost whole-heartedly with Mr. Simmons.
1. Michael Jordan 2. Bill Russel 3. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 4. Magic Johnson 5. Wilt Chamberlain 6. Larry Bird 7. Kobe Bryant 8. Oscar Robertson 9. Tim Duncan 10. Hakeem Olajuwon I have a good feeling Lebron will slot in around 5 or so when he's done. 4/5/6 was probably the hardest, as was 10 with a number of solid choices (Shaq, Pippen) there. What's your top-10 look like? |
1. MJ
2. Magic 3. Larry Bird 4. Hakeem 5. Russell 6. Kareem 7. Kobe 8. Wilt 9. Tim Duncan 10. Shaq |

david robinson > tim duncan
w/out the admiral, duncan wouldn't be the player he is today. Ewing deserves some mention :p maybe in the 11-13 spot. |

About Ewing, I was his biggest fan back in the days, but if the Knicks didn't get a ring when we had the chance, it was also his fault and more than just the one time against the Rockets. |
I'm awful with these lists so I will just leave it like this...
1. Anthony Goldwire.... the rest is up for debate. |
By the way, I agree that I would take Magic over Bird as a lot of you guys seem to but everybody who I've talked to about this told be I was crazy. Glad to see I'm not alone.

1: MIchael Jordan
2: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 3: "Magic" Johnson 4: Wilt Chamberlin 5: John Stockton 6: Bill Russell 7: Hakeem Olajuwon 8: Jerry West 9: Bill Walton 10: Chris Mullin HM: Karl Malone, Kurt Rambis (I'll defend this to the day I die even tho I hate the Lakers), Brian Scalabrine :sarcasm: |
Jordan - 10 scoring titles, 5 MVPs, and 6 championships. Don't know how anyone can top that.
Chamberlain - just scored so much more than anyone else. Russell - playoff beast. The biggest reason why the Celtics won 11 rings in 13 years. Kareem - 20 seasons in the NBA, including 6 MVP wins, shows insane consistency from season to season. Magic - 3 MVPs, 9 years on 1st All-NBA team, 3 championships. Greatest PG of all time. Goes ahead of Bird as he beat him 2 out of the 3 times they met in the finals. Bird - well can't have Magic without his biggest rival eh? Kobe - 14 straight years on the All-NBA team. Not too shabby. Could even move a little higher before he retires. Duncan - Wasn't as flashy as a lot of these other guys, but can't argue with what he's accomplished. K. Malone - record 11 years on the first all-NBA team. Second-most points in history. With that on your resume you get a pass for not winning a championship. Mikan - the first NBA superstar. Paved the way for everyone else on the list. HMs: M. Malone, Cousy, West, Dr. J, Shaq |
Not criticising here, but this is my first thought for half these lists.

MJ
Russell Wilt Magic Bird Kareem Oscar Shaq Kobe Hakeem Kobe should not be above Shaq...then again I'm not a Kobe fan. |

Seeing Mikan mentioned only once is dissapointing as he's probably the most dominant player of any basketball era.
|
Well, the list starts with Jordan, possibly the best player in the games history.
Then you have to go Oscar, Wilt,KAJ, Magic, Bird, Maravich, West, Mikan who I cant believe isnt on a few more lists here, and Kobe. Theres some names I cant believe are on some of the lists posted. I would put Pippen above a few of them. |

Mikan was the first big star of the NBA, yes, but top 10 ever? No, maybe top 25. |
Jordan
Chamberlain Abdul-Jabbar Magic Bird Robertson Shaq Olajuwon James Russell West, Duncan, Baylor and Moses are all really close. Looking at these lists I am reminded of how overrated Kobe Bryant is. Borderline top 25 player for me. |

Shaq needs to be in the 8-10 position no matter what. He changed the game and revolutionized the power forward position. No Jerry West either?
