The author might want to check out how signing bonuses work.

Quote:

Brad Richards will have lost almost $15 million due to lockouts if the season is wiped out
Brad Richards has already been paid $8m of his $12m salary this season in a signing bonus.

Mouser, are you sure that the $8 million signing bonus is included in the $12 million and not in addition to his whole salary?

The bonus is included in his yearly total. In his first year, his salary was 2M and his bonus was 10M for a total of 12M (which is used as part of the formula to calculate the caphit). This year, his salary is 4M and bonus is 8M for a total of 12M.

All right guys. Thanks, I will update the table accordingly.

I think you'll find that Pronger is getting paid the full boat because of his injury that pre-dated the lockout.

You can add Savard to that list as well. Potentially Kesler, and anyone else who was injured prior to the lockout.
