Pierre McGuire

Any news if he'll be doing the games or not?

PensBandwagonerNo272 12-17-2012 12:17 PM

I hear he might poke his head out of his shell for this

The resemblance is uncanny!

Good lord, I never thought about having to deal with Pierre McGuire again so soon. My feeling is that TSN goes with Ferraro for contractual reasons but with McGuire won't be otherwise occupied this year so there's a chance they sneak him in there somehow. :shakehead

McGuire at least makes the games exciting. He has emotion.

Ferraro is just an absolute buzz kill and one of the worst color commentators in hockey.

Stop Winnin 12-17-2012 01:29 PM

McGuire is hilarious, I don't see how people can't enjoy his commentary, it's informative(although excessive at times) and just straight up hilarious.

I still chuckle at the Eberle goal.

mizunox 12-17-2012 01:34 PM

I used to hate the guy but started to miss his crazy commentary when he left for NBC.

I hope he's doing this tourney and I hope that he's as awkward as ever.

phillipsj89 12-17-2012 01:37 PM

Not sure if Pierre is going. I know Ferraro is going forsure (he's on the radio every morning in vancouver and he has said multiple times.) Don't think TSN would send two between the benches guys.

agentblack 12-17-2012 02:01 PM

Its not the same without Pierre. He's so ridic and entertaining with his stories

Best edit ever:

I agree. Love the guy!

Sure he's comes across creepy at times, but I love his enthusiasm.

Used to be a yearly tradition to play this during the World Juniors.

I suppose though, that getting drunk at 6am isnt the best idea.

McGuire will be doing commentary and analysis for the NBC driven NHL Network in the USA, just like he did last year.

Just came to post this. Not sure if I will be drinking at 4am, but who knows!

I am sure after 2 games we will have an update 2013 world jr version

stlblues9 12-17-2012 09:01 PM

I wish TSN would have fired Miller instead of Mcguire.

E.J. Hradek will be doing the analysis for this tournament on the NHL Network, Rob Simpson will be the rinkside reporter. Would rather see McGruire though, he may be annoying. But he really knows his stuff, I love watching games when he is present, I learn something new every time.

You are right though, McGuire does doe the commentary for the NBC Sports Network and regular NBC "Game of the Week" during the NHL regular season. He did a few college hockey games with Doc Emerick (spelling) on the NBC Sports Network this year.

Talk about a contrast. McGuire is crazed and Doc, well Doc should have stayed with his medical practice.:cry:

Yeah he gets a lot of flack but i really enjoy the guys commentary, knows a lot about hockey and sometimes a little bit too much about the players personal lives. Very entertaining

canucksPK 12-19-2012 01:19 AM

I miss Mcguire commentary

premadonna 12-19-2012 01:28 AM

I like Pierre. He's passionate about hockey, dedicated and very knowledgeable, but at the same time a somewhat comical character. He's entertaining.

Totally agree, sometimes he is apoplectic.:handclap:
