I'm nit crazy about the main card(even though the fights should be exciting, just not a high end ppv) but the prelims more than make up for it.

Huge JDS fan. My #2 to Fedor all time.

That said, Cain's going to be out cold in the first round again.

Is Holloway v Garcia not even on the televised prelims? That's crazy, it might be FOTN.

This card sure has taken a beating, but the additions of Guillard, Varner, and Holloway has peaked my interest again. Also looking forward to seeing where Jury is at.

Yea I'm guessing they're giving Garcia the "Jorgensen" treatment from the last FOX card. Although Garcia really isn't the type of guy that needs motivation to bring a good effort, he always bring's it, he's just not very good.

I think they'll move stuff around. You've got Perez/Bloodworth as the obvious Facebook fight.

this fight will be closer then the last, but i dont think cain has a hope in hell against dos santos' boxing. his boxing is in a class of it's own...

Well if they go with the usual PPV model pre-lims there will be four fights on FX/Sportsnet and three fights on Facebook. As it stands the four fights scheduled for FX are Pickett/Wineland, Perez/Bloodworth, Guillard/Varner and Jury/Johnson. Hopefully they at least bump the Perez/Bloodworth fight, but I couldn't really care either way, I'll see all the fights one way or another. FWIW, the UFC website has Garcia/Holloway listed as one of the three Facebook fights.

You guys act like JDS is so much better than Cain. In their one fight, Cain wasn't Cain. Take injuries out on both fighters and Cain still stood right in front of him. That's not Cain. Cain is an aggressive fighter that likes to push the pace. In their last fight, he left himself vulnerable to JDS' boxing by just standing there. He won't make that same mistake again. Cain will win. JDS definitely can win and it won't shock me but it WILL shock me if JDS knocks him out that quickly again. But again...Cain will win.

JDS had a torn meniscus, still KO'd Cain.

If JDS wins will he fight Overeem?

Reem is fighting Big Foot. When he wins that, he'll fight Cain.

Why Cain? Why wouldn't he get a title shot after beating Silva?

Big Foot seems like the "jobber" for the UFC heavyweight division at this point

Cain's never had good striking defense. Until he magically learns that in the next week, he's dead meat.

MBauer 12-25-2012 03:58 AM

If Cain has to stand with JDS he will be koed again, for Cain to win you must assume he can take and hold JDS down, which is a pretty big assumption, also no one knows how good JDS' bjj is.

Well he was recently given his BJJ black belt, so I'd have to imagine it's at least passable.

BGDDYKWL 12-26-2012 02:06 AM

I find JDS extremely likable, but I've always been partial to wrestlers so I'd prefer to see Cain take this. But if JDS does win, I at the very least hope we get a full round or two out of this to really see JDS tested (including how he handles getting taken down and fighting off his back). I think people are selling Cain a little short here. Carwin and Nelson both went 3 rounds with JDS, and while they both have far better chins, it's a lot to ask to think JDS could finish Cain twice in the first round.

Taking 2 upsets at the top. Probably pushing it with Cain, more reactionary to the lack if respect he's getting. The guy is and always has been one of the best, he gets flash ko'd & everyone acts like he had no chance. If anyone will beat JDS, it's Cain.

Its time for Joe lauzon to take the next step & this is a perfect fight to do so. Miller is basically a mirror image of Joe, this is a good matchup for him to get a win over a top caliber guy. Doing so is easier said than done, jersey tuff
