Michael Sauer

I know that he may not have much value, and because of that, may turn into an extreme journeyman type of player; but what would you give up for Sauer?

EastRiver 12-24-2012 01:33 PM

Wait is this for Michael Sauer or Sauer Micheal?

virothepyro 12-24-2012 01:33 PM

probably a late pick in a extremely advanced year

#Lydia2012

Well, I figure that if a team were to trade for him, a lot of his value would come from the fact they'd be willing to flip him for something more.

EastRiver 12-24-2012 01:35 PM

You are both undervaluing the price of Sauer

EastRiver 12-24-2012 01:36 PM

Yes, said team if they flipped Sauer multiple times could acquire an elite player.

so you think he would be in the price range of say someone like ben lovejoy, mike weber, yannick webber or the jordan leopolds, Andrej Sekeras and Madisons of the world

The thing with Mikhail is he also plays wing in youth hockey. Very versatile player. Keep it in mind.

EastRiver 12-24-2012 01:38 PM

To start with but if said team continued to trade the player they acquired in each successive trade the could probably acquire an elite player.

That sounds about right up until Sekera, who is clearly worth more than Sauer. Also, your last point is like saying Sauer is worth Lydia, which is clearly not true in any universe.

jw2 12-24-2012 01:39 PM

If Sauer is healthy, it takes a lot. He really completes that defensive corps, in NY.

As of now, he has little value.

EastRiver 12-24-2012 01:41 PM

Whos is this Lydia you speak of? I have never heard of this NHL hockey player.

caps4cup 12-24-2012 01:42 PM

Wait is this thread for Sauer Mikhail or Mikhail Shtalenkov?

true i consider sekera more of a #3 dman so i guess he would be worth more then sauer, and of course not Lydia is worth multiple firsts considering that Lydia is a franchise player

#Lydia2012

EastRiver 12-24-2012 01:43 PM

Or Micheal Shtalenkov?

Sauer is no slouch. He's a great player when the guy is healthy, but as a poster said above, that's a big if. And you can't even compare Madison to Sauer, because as we all know, Madison is just as valuable as Lydia, if not moreso.

caps4cup 12-24-2012 01:46 PM

Mikhail Shtalenkov is a great goalie. 47 year old, up there in age but a proven commodity. In 1985-1986 he play 0 games for Dynamo Moscow. Very valuable to team though.

EastRiver 12-24-2012 01:47 PM

Madison being better than Sauer is a matter of opinion.

TheNudge 12-24-2012 01:49 PM

How about Murray Douglas for Michael Sauer ? Is that selling Sauer a bit short ??:sarcasm:

i just don't see it, he's a solid bottom pairing guy but i would not want to have him in the top 4 of my rotation just as i wouldn't put madison over Lydia.

it's like the nationals putting Strasburg as there number 6 pitcher you just don't put the best in the back

EastRiver 12-24-2012 01:53 PM

Comparing Sauer to Strasburg is like comparing Strasburg to Derrick Rose. Becuase Derrick Rose has had injury problems and is injured right now and Strasburg has had injury problems but isn't injured right now.

Yeah bro but Strasburg doesn't have his own song like Kobe or John Wall

Nyquist 12-24-2012 01:57 PM

I'd probably give Megatron for Sauer + a 1st

I'd put Lydia in the front end of my rotation, Madison in the back. Madison was always better from the back end of the rotation.
