Toronto Maple Leafs Christmas Present

Christmas is forthcoming and i am wondering what everybody would pick if they had once choice to choose as a present for the maple leafs come off season. Since we are on the verge of a lock out the off season is the only thing to look forward to.

For me it is to get a top 3 pick in the 2013 NHL draft and then to sign 2 Top end Free agents to add to the young pool of Kessel , Gardier , JVR and Riley

TMLife 12-24-2012 09:25 PM

That's two choices

Would having a CFL style management of the league for 2017 be 1 single choice, since there will need to be a lot of trades?

AlmightyPO 12-24-2012 09:39 PM

My wish: 1st overall pick when the season is eventually cancelled.

However knowing our luck, I believe we will pick out of the top 15.

anyone who says anything other than the stanley cup is ridiculous

sometimes I think we get so caught up in the journey that we forget about the destination

Schennanigans 12-24-2012 10:13 PM

For the NHL to go under.

Stephen 12-24-2012 10:43 PM

Yeah, I'd like to see the Bettman Hockey League go belly up.

Bravid Nonahan 12-24-2012 10:45 PM

10 teams disappear, salary cap is removed, draft is removed.

Aplayaz2000 12-24-2012 11:51 PM

i just wanna see... a playoff game in Toronto

mainly because ive never got the chance to see one

Leafs at Knight 12-25-2012 12:19 AM

A stanley cup ... wow that was hard.

DD03 12-25-2012 07:00 AM

NHL hockey would be awesome.

Its pathetic how much the leafs have dissapointed us that our greatest wish is to just see a playoff team or even a good draft pick.

Kessely Snipes 12-25-2012 02:33 PM

I'm not even close to being in a Stanley cup mindset. I would be pumped to see Leafs just get in, even if they got blown out in the first round.

achtungbaby 12-25-2012 02:35 PM

I want a good draft pi.... Ha! Obviously the Cup.

BertCorbeau 12-25-2012 02:36 PM

Easy ... #1 overall draft pick

MapleLeafsFan4Ever 12-25-2012 03:01 PM

Seeing the Maple Leafs making the Playoffs.

Hennig 12-25-2012 03:14 PM

Does it need to be reasonable? If not:
Malkin and Fleury for Komisarek and Lombardi

If so:
Draft Nate Mackinnon

crump 12-25-2012 03:25 PM

The journey is half the fun.

How about wish for one great draft where they get 2 or 3 franchise players. Let the players do the rest on the way to a cup.

Mystifo 12-25-2012 03:47 PM

A draft where we pick a stud in every single round.

LV 12-25-2012 03:50 PM

Have a wonderful draft.

Take MacKinnon at #1, trade for the rights to Getzlaf for cheap, have him sign with us and then sign Backstrom or Perry :)

Hurt 12-25-2012 04:11 PM

Well the Cup is the obvious answer but realistically, getting a franchise center from the draft (depending on draft method they'll use if/when the season is cancelled and IF the union isn't dissolved) and a good Free Agency period (again, depending if the Union is dissolved and the repercussions of that) is the best we can hope for. REALISTICALLY.

a trade that would land us a starting line up of:

Nash-Toews-Gaborik
Weber-Doughty
Rinne

noway 12-25-2012 11:02 PM

I wish that all humans in the NHL hierarchy that look like rats, please scurry away!
