Dan Girardi or Erik Johnson?

Who do you take?

Machinehead 12-25-2012 11:50 PM

Girardi, not a very difficult choice.

Skip2myBordyloo 12-26-2012 12:04 AM

girardi is better now, johnson still has a higher potential.

Avs44 12-26-2012 12:32 AM

Girardi right now, but Johnson could be better. Voted Girardi.

CoachBadkitten 12-26-2012 12:33 AM

I take EJ for the higher potential.

Leafidelity 12-26-2012 12:43 AM

Definitely prefer Girardi on my team.

BlueDream 12-26-2012 02:35 AM

Girardi easily right now. Superior defensive player and can still put up ~30 points so EJ's edge offensively isn't that large (so far).

In the future, if I were building a team, I'd take Johnson because of his age and potential. Girardi isn't old though at 28.

Lonewolfe2015 12-26-2012 07:04 AM

When EJ is playing his game, he's better than Girardi. But that wasn't consistent enough last season to be considered the better player overall. I'd take EJ as a homer/fan of his, but wouldn't disagree with anyone taking Girardi either.

I expect EJ to be better in the future though.

Krampus 12-26-2012 08:02 AM

Regardless of potential, Girardi fits our needs better

Ceremony 12-26-2012 08:03 AM

I take EJ in a perfect world where he fulfills his potential. Can be a more dynamic player than Girardi.

Le Magnifique 66 12-26-2012 09:11 AM

Erik Johnson

Izzy 12-26-2012 09:15 AM

Johnson. Not sure why Girardi is such an easy choice for people

InjuredChoker 12-26-2012 11:54 AM

Girardi if talking one season but otherwise EJ. So went with him.

SirPaste 12-26-2012 11:56 AM

Girardi pretty easily for me, EJ stills has loads of potential but I highly doubt he will ever come close to it.

One guy in this poll is better than the other guy in this poll right now. I think its pretty clear.

For the most part you've only got Avs fans and Devils fans voting for Johnson.

Why are so many people mentioning "potential"?

At some point in time you have to, you know, actually show signs of ever living up to that potential.

You must not have seen him play all that much. He showed a lot of "living up to that potential" last year.

Then people should be referring to his play, not his potential.

Kershaw 12-26-2012 07:54 PM

I doubt Johnson will ever have as good a season as Girardi had this past season. So I take him.

bp spec 12-26-2012 08:19 PM

Girardi

That's your opinion and I would take Johnson.

His potential is being able to play like he did for a whole season and being consistent night in and night out. His play is wildly inconsistent.

which is why Girardi is easily the safer choice

PhillyBluesFan 12-26-2012 09:13 PM

How is this poll close? Girardi is twice the player Erik Johnson is.
