What is a standard South African accent? In Johannesburg it English-based but down south in the Cape provinces it is heavily influenced by Afrikaans. Percy Montgomery, a native English-speaker, was born in Namibia but raised in Cape Town. And it shows. Compare his English to that of Afrikaans-native John Smit.

Did not know that. Thanks for the info. To answer your question, both sounded cool to me. I'm sure there's different accents in Australia too, but I can tell it's generally an Australian accent. Much like I can tell it's a South African accent. Enjoy listening to both.

There is a clue to the name of the accent of the people of Geordie Shore in the programme's title.

That'll be Geordie. However I'm sure most of the cast aren't even from Newcastle. A real Geordie accent is excellent.

The one with the huge boobs in season 1 is from Sunderland, I'm pretty sure the rest were all from Newcastle. I remember one of them said "you're neet a Geordie, you're neet one of ooz"

But to be fair the whole Sunderland, Newcastle, Gateshead, Whitley bay area all sound the same
