Which forward trio do you build around? #4

What is this?
You're building a team. You're given the option to choose any of these trio of forwards to build your core around.
Who do you go for? (ignore cap hit for this exercise)
Will be ranking the Top 15.
Criteria:
2007 Draftees and beyond (let me know if any the prospects on any team's lists is wrong or someone is more deserving)
---
Previously Voted Top Trios:
1.) Edmonton: Taylor Hall, RNH, Nail Yakupov
2.) Colorado: Matt Duchene, Ryan O'Reilly, Gabriel Landeskog
3.) NYI: John Tavares, Ryan Strome, Nino Niederreiter

The homer vote is in.

But seriously, Philadelphia should be next.

Sidenote:
What do you guys think? Wayne Simmonds or Jakub Voracek?

Qward 12-29-2012 11:37 AM

St. Louis has a lot of young fire power coming up.

Kezia 12-29-2012 11:37 AM

Voracek^

voted Tampa

startainfection* 12-29-2012 11:37 AM

rangers because of how fast they are

edit didnt realize that tampa included stamkos

Playmaker09 12-29-2012 11:47 AM

Stamkos wins it by himself.

Next, flip a coin between the Habs and Jets. Then Flyers/Hawks.

Prairie Habs 12-29-2012 11:52 AM

Tampa because Stamkos.

Also I think Montreal would probably have Colberg or Gallagher ahead of Eller long term. Or just 2013 1st round pick.

Nope. Not unless you see them becoming first liners. A #2/3 C with size and shutdown ability is far more valuable than a second line winger.

Freudian 12-29-2012 12:03 PM

I think I might have gone with Tampa even if it was Stamkos alone. Scoring 60 goals with just 12 PP goals is nuts. One of the most impressive feats after the 2005 lockout.

King Forsberg 12-29-2012 12:12 PM

I'd put Voracek instead of Simmonds for Philly

AD1066 12-29-2012 12:25 PM

Out of curiosity, how were these trios chosen?

Cyborg LeClair 12-29-2012 12:25 PM

Voracek over Simmonds

Couturier and Schenn alone make them the next best choice imo and Voracek is going to be a beast as soon as we have a season

InjuredChoker 12-29-2012 01:29 PM

Tampa.

PensBandwagonerNo272 12-29-2012 01:33 PM

Easily Tampa. I'd take Stammer alone over a lot of these.

Some teams I had enough knowledge to determine the top 3 players in the organization that were drafted post-2007. Other teams I used the team's HockeysFuture page as well as their progress in this current season to shape their top 3. After I made the trios I began to take input from the respective team's fans to tweak the final product.

capitalsrock 12-29-2012 02:04 PM

I'll go with Washington obviously and you could to drop Anaheim/Calgary soon.

TheJuxtaposer 12-29-2012 02:10 PM

The Tampa Bay Stamkoses.

But honestly it makes no sense to have groups like Calgary with Baertschi, Horak, and Jankowski over Couture (2007), Hertl(2012), and Wingels (2008).

Eller is the weak link though and with TB and Chicago having a way better #1 right now it tips the scales IMO.

I took the Black Hawks here Kane is top 3 of players left right now and those 2 prospects are just dynamite.

Also what is Howden doing as the 3rd Florida prospect?

Who should usurp Howden?

Don't worry, neither San Jose or Calgary were going to win any of the recent polls. I just removed some of the weaker trios to reduce some clutter. I'll probably do a ranking all the way down to #30 so San Jose will make there way back on the list either next poll or the one after that due to Coutures impressive pedigree.

SLAPSHOT723 12-29-2012 03:38 PM

Voted Buffalo because I didn't see Tampa. I think Buffalo's trio should be next though.

Dolph Ziggler 12-29-2012 04:13 PM

Should replace Rattie with David Perron. He's only 24 and was part of the 07 class

AJMHABS 12-29-2012 04:30 PM

Tampa Bay, easily.

Voracek will be the better overall player, Simmonds probably a better goal scorer

I'd go with Voracek
