2004 World Ice Hockey Championship (Gold)
2005 WJC (Gold)
2010 Olympic (Gold)
2011 Stanley Cup Champion
2012 Spengler Cup

InjuredChoker 12-31-2012 12:43 PM

OP is Montreal fan? What's going on here, lol?

But srs note, that's impressive resume.

Tusk 12-31-2012 12:46 PM

As long as you like good hockey he is an impossible player to hate.

Gospel.
Just plays the game the right way and has had some seriously impressive games in very clutch situations - although I'm still disappointed he got hurt in the 1st game of the Olympics, dropped off the 1st line and never got the chance to show the world what he's capable of.
Too bad two lockouts and Randy Jones have interrupted his career to the extent they have. But he's still only what 27? 26?

Dabruins 12-31-2012 12:57 PM

The guy is beyond good. Glad to see him dominate another clutch situation.

The more hockey you watch, the more you appreciate Patrice Bergeron.

Needs to win a World Championship and a Spengler Cup to have all the hardware available to him (minus other leagues like KHL, SEL..etc).

A World Championship usually means that your NHL team has been eliminated from Stanley Cup contention. I think I'd take a Cup or being in the hunt for it over a World Championship against watered down competition. World Cup is a different story though.

Orange Thunder 12-31-2012 01:54 PM

Bergeron and Richards have quite the resumes.

Give it time..

Both Bergy and Seguin have been playing great in Europe during the lockout. If that carries over into a shortened NHL season the Bruins will be a force to reckon with as long as Rask is up to getting the job done in net.

Time to fire up the Hot Tub Time Machine.

Qrispy 12-31-2012 02:19 PM

Scott Niedermayer still has him beat I think.

He has everybody beat. If Iginla wins a cup he will be pretty close.

Bergeron and Richards are the two most impressive resumes from the post lockout crop. But speaking of lockouts, only during a lockout can we start mentioning the Spengler Cup as a noteworthy accomplishment. Not quite on par with those other championships.

Bmessy 12-31-2012 02:55 PM

Bergeron is a pleasure to watch. Such an all around force. How awesome was that 05 Canadian World Juniors team though, huh?

Riddum 12-31-2012 02:56 PM

Bergeron, the only Bruin I would gladly add to the Habs.

Very similar guys, but Bergeron is infinitely more likeable, in my opinion (and beyond that I think he's objectively better than Richards is).

tony d 12-31-2012 03:08 PM

Bergeron is a tremendous player, really glad to see him completely recovered from that very scary injury that he suffered a few seasons ago.

JKG33 12-31-2012 03:11 PM

Jonathan Toews

2006 World Junior Gold
2007 World Junior Gold
2007 World Championship Gold
2010 Olympic Gold
2010 Stanley Cup

and a Conn Smythe in there as well

FanSince2014 12-31-2012 03:13 PM

In 2003, the Kings drafted Brown, Tambellini, Boyle and Pushkarev all before Bergeron.

Pushkarev was taken 44th overall, Bergeron 45th.

unifiedtheory 12-31-2012 03:24 PM

My favourite player from my favourite team. Dude is all class.

Scottrockztheworld* 12-31-2012 04:36 PM

2012 Spengler Cup... really? LOL
We all know how much players want one of those titles.
