Xavier Oulett is the new Eric Stall

It's Ouellet

Not Ouelet
Not Oulett
Not Ouellett
Not Oulet
Not Ouelette

We've tolerated the butchering of Maxim Ouellet and Michel Ouellet, but since Xavier Ouellet seems to be displaying the potential of being a big time NHL player, people have got to start getting it right.

Even TSN has his name misspelled on their WJC Statistics page.

Will do

davebenj 12-31-2012 04:16 PM

You mean Oulett is an asshat too? But seriously, I would probably be the first to not spell it correctly by mistake so this thread is a good warning.

Kane One 12-31-2012 04:20 PM

Owlette?

Qurpiz 12-31-2012 04:25 PM

I really think it's going to be Määttä, at least in pronounciation

It's not Mada
It's not Maada
It's not Maata
It's not Matta
It's not Mattaa
It's not Mataa
It's not Mate

It's ****ing Määttä. There's a reason there's two ä's and two t's

Xav 12-31-2012 04:28 PM

Also pronunciation wise it is closer to Willet/Wallet/Wellet than Ou-let, but that's less important than getting AT LEAST the spelling right.

You don't pronounce "oui" ou-i, its pronounced wee.

Soucre: My name is Xavier Ouellette

WHOO - ''et'' (like the ''et'' at the end of corset or Huet) - LET (as it, LET the knowledge flow!)

Depends how fast you say it but yes, this is accurate as well.

Don't pretend that you wouldn't be sick and tired of someone spelling Crosby as Crossby or Malkin as Malkinn or something.

I personally usually just move on to the next post in the thread.
