There are a few changes to the rules. Make sure you are aware of them.
I'm going to need volunteers to be agents. We will be keeping all FA re-signings in the Free Agency thread now.
Black = Available
On the block:
One of Patrick Marleau/Joe Thornton (Going to take a lot for Joe)
We're looking to bring in some fresh faces. We prefer youth, but we are not a rebuilding effort. NHL ready players+ a few prospects to replenish our fairly empty cupboards.
Looking to accumulate more prospects and picks. Guillame Latendresse, Peter Regin, Erik Condra, Kaspars Daugavins, Sergei Gonchar and Ben Bishop are all available. We are also taking offers on Jared Cowen. An established top-six forward or a very good prospect will be required as part of any potential deal.
Re-tooling. Everyone available except Smith, Wilson, Weber(cannot be traded) Josi, Blum, and all picks/prospects. Looking fit young players, high picks, and good prospects. Rinne MIGHT be available, but the price is incredibly high.
:habs TRADE BLOCK
Rene Bourque (looking for futures)
Tomas Plekanec could also be available but only if a young proven top 6 forward is coming back as part of the trade.
Also listening to other offers as long as it makes sense.
Pretty much looking to improve everywhere, most importantly need a top 6 center, top 6 right winger, and top 4 right handed d-man. Don't ask about Huberdeau, Gudbranson, or Bjugstad.
You can also feel free to start making offers on Weiss, but my intentions are to re-sign him.
Listening to offers for:
Travis Zajac, Patrick Elias, David Clarkson, Dainus Zubrus, Marek Zidlicky and Andy Greene.
Young roster players, prospects, draft picks in return.
If your not sure what to offer, give me a list of available assets you're willing to move and we can talk from there. Preferably fowards players in return.
:habs KABERLE HEADING TO THE ISLANDERS
The Montreal Canadiens have traded defenseman Tomas Kaberle to the New York Islanders for defenseman Loic Leduc and NYI 2013 4th round pick.
With the emergence of Rafael Diaz, Kaberle was the odd man out in Montreal, especially with the salary cap going down next season. We wish him the best of luck in Long Island.
The Blues are looking to add to their core. Looking for a top pairing LD and high end forwards.
Willing to move:
We need at least one good top 6 winger, and at least one good top 4 defenseman. A lot of our team can be discussed in deals. Names include:
And our 1st round pick, 2nd round pick, and 3rd round pick in 2013.
:nhl WAIVER ALERT
The Montreal Canadiens have placed forward Scott Gomez on waivers.
Columbus is looking for......everything.
Literally, we need everything..... offense, checkers, defense, goaltending, prospects, aspiring cheerleaders with daddy issues, Little Caesars gift cards (have you tried their wings? Awesome), the second season of Boy Meets World, draft picks....the list goes on
The Sabres be retooling, yo!
On the Block:
Ryan Miller (offer has to be really good)
Superstar Ville Leino
Young roster players
Vanek and Pominville are possibly available for overpayments.
We're mainly looking to shore up the defense (RH are preferred). A 3rd line center is also a priority.
Only untouchables are Eric Staal, Jordan Staal, Jeff Skinner, Justin Faulk, and Cam Ward.
I'll listen to offers on everyone except Benn.
- Loui Eriksson
- Jaromir Jagr
- Derek Roy
- Ray Whitney
- Micheal Ryder
- Brenden Morrow
- Vern Fiddler
- Alex Goligoski
- Stephane Robidas
- Trevor Daley
- Aaron Rome
- Kari Lehtonen
- Everyone else
Looking for young roster players or good prospects in return. In Particular:
- Offensive center
- Gritty 2nd/3rd Line RW
Also looking for:
- Gritty 2nd/3rd line RW
- Draft Picks
I'll volunteer to be some sort of agent. I've always wanted to try it.
And the daddy issue cheerleaders are already at RealSport in Toronto, holding Joffrey's booth
NEW CBA RULE EXPLANATION!
So recently a new CBA rule was announced to the public.
Any 1 way contract worth more than 900k per season that is sent to the AHL will penalize your team's salary cap.
A popular example: Wade Redden.
He makes $6.5 mil per year on a 1 way contract. The Rangers have him in the AHL.
Since he is making more than 900k, his cap hit partially counts towards the Rangers salary cap.
$6.5 mil - 900k = $5.6 mil cap hit against the Rangers.
It is shown on capgeek as well: http://capgeek.com/rangers/ (look under buyouts)
Also, re-entry waivers are gone!
Edit: And we're not trading cap space/salary this game, because I have yet to fully understand how that will work in the NHL.
Give me Myers for being such a jerk :D
I have no clue if the cap hit still applies if the player is playing in Europe. It might, it might not.
I guess it's up to IR to decide.
