If a deal like this ends up being accepted, I wonder how bad Burke's offerings must have been?

Burke said that wasnt true.
Nonis said that wasnt true.
The president of MLSE said that wasnt true.
Bob MacKenzie and Darren Dregger said that wasnt true.
Kyper and Shannon said that wasnt true.

But keep clinging to that fantasy.

Bozak = Raymond
Kadri = Schroeder

anymore?

Frattin = Hansen?

Both sides, remember this when you make a proposals.

y2kcanuck, I can't quote your tweet from the previous thread but if you actually think Nonis would trade Gardiner for Luongo you are mistaken. He would be run out of office before next Saturday. You as a Canuck fan should know very well how much Nonis values youth. Hopefully this ends soon and you or I will realize just how wrong we are.

Nonis is known for holding onto prospects almost as bad as HFboards (almost) so you're probably right. But I believe one of the reasons he was let go was because Canucks ownership was worried that because he'd missed out on so many opportunities to improve our team he would force himself into a bad deal. Overall Nonis a pretty conservative and good GM (and allows the local donut industry to FLOURISH! :naughty:) but there is that chance he goes for broke.

he didnt value youth much with the canucks, he was too busy acquiring players like weinrich, carney, noronen and sanderson for us.

As Canucks fans we also know he doesn't value picks very much. I'm not saying your 1st is necessarily in play, but I'm pretty confident in saying Leafs fans value it much higher than Nonis does.

I sure hope so. If they said it was true Gillis would be 100% certain he gets whatever he wants.

Nonis was fired last time he held onto prospects too long instead of addressing a major team need. Canucks fans know this all too well.

Why would any one of those guys say it was true? That sure would help Nonis' bargaining position. :laugh:

Watch Burke's interview with Duthie. Watch what Burke has to say when Duthie asked if it had to do with Luongo.

Thank god he didn't make the trades that supposedly got him canned, though. Would you rather have Jokinen or the Sedins? Kesler and Edler or B. Richards?

Agreed. Hansen is a great PKer, is quick, and brings grit and some decent skill. 16 goals/39 points last season.

Yea MacKenzie, Kyper and Shannon all care about Nonis's bargaining power.

LEAFANFORLIFE23 01-12-2013 06:32 PM

I am at a werid spot with this trade cause to me it can 1 of 3 ways

1. We get luongo for a reasonable price, fill the MASSIVE hole in goal and the team starts to round into fotm this is what I think happens.

2 We don't get luongo BUT reimer stays healthy and discovers the form he had as rookie the team proves to have a much younger, cheaper #1 goalie.

3. we don't get luongo team is crap goes on a mini rebuild keeps gardiner and Reilley adds a 1st rounder or 2 by trading lupul, possibly kessel, macarthur but keeps the likes of JVR Gardiner, Reilley adds, another blue chip prospect in Mackion, Jones, Barkov and uses their cap space in an effort to do a philly style rebuild they did in 2007

personally any way this goes i'm good there is no bad path to me

Scottrockztheworld* 01-12-2013 06:32 PM

Phi/Fla/Van sort of 3 way

With Kulikov still an RFA in need of a contract, Philly in need of a dman I thought:

I know Gillis said an unconventional trade may be done. I know the Panthers need a big C to make an impact & preferably soon. Phi was mentioned in Luongo rumors but with Bryz I doubt they are in for Luongo.

What if something like this went down:

To PHI: Dmitry Kulikov
To FLA: Sean Couturier

Then Van/Fla try to work out a basis of a Lu/Bjug-stud trade :naughty:

Panther fans didn't hate it & when it comes to a Lu/Bjugstad trade they usually do..... Philly fans?

Lets just cut the Leafs right out :laugh:

who cares what MacKenzie, Kyper and Shannon say, they weren't in the board room were they. Nobody really knows other than management, but the odd timing makes things uncertain doesnt it.

Not that I care one way or another, but it's pretty obvious they get their information from people who care.

Hansen is better than Fratting, but Bozak is also better than Raymond.

Bozak might have a bit more offensive creativity, but Raymond is faster and better defensively.

Agreed. And at this point I think Kadri has the edge even just on AHL output vs Schroeder.

Haven't posted in a while, just wanted to tell Piqued that I spit my coffee all over the screen from OP.

Dude, Bozak is better than Raymond. That one's not a debate.
