Carl Hagelin enters NY Rangers camp 'planted' on roster after promising rookie season, wants to become consistent scoring threat

“Hags has changed our team since we brought him up,” Tortorella said Monday. “He’s changed the dynamic of our team and does a lot of good things with some of our top players as far as chasing down pucks. But I just want (him) to believe that he can score goals, too. This was one of the conversations we had at the end of last year.”

How pleased was Tortorella with Hagelin’s debut season? On Monday, while saying Chris Kreider “is still fighting for a spot,” the coach emphasized that Hagelin “is more planted into our roster,” especially because of his speed. On the forecheck, Hagelin often is able to pressure defensemen out of their comfort zones into committing turnovers.
Added again a poll. How many points will Hags score? Remember it's a 48-game season.

Just over 15 is my guess; not just shortened season, but their D first approach both = reduced goals.

Also, you said season only, not playoffs also.

I see Hagelin as a breakout 20 goal guy, full season. Maybe 23. That's around 13, 14 in this shortened season.

But I voted for more than 60 cause how ****in crazy would that be?

I'm calling it! :handclap:

Gretzky's 92 goal record is in jeopardy.

tomcatNYR 01-16-2013 04:18 AM

Ok yeah, I ****ed it up. The poll should ask how many points, not goals :o

N9Y4R 01-16-2013 06:55 AM

This is totally dependent on where in the lineup he plays and how much PP time he sees. He should easily be a .5 PPG player with top 6 min.

M Gaz 01-16-2013 06:57 AM

Voted <15 because I thought it was goals lol I think he'll end up with a total in the high 20s or low 30s

Ail 01-16-2013 07:04 AM

Seven votes for 60+

Sounds legit.

Staals Eye 01-16-2013 07:30 AM

I'll take the over on 79 goals! :D

Dangleberry 01-16-2013 07:45 AM

Less than 15, he doesn't look like much of a goal scorer.

NYR Viper 01-16-2013 07:51 AM

Less than 15. He is more of a playmaker than a goal scorer.

Frozen North 01-16-2013 08:19 AM

I just hope that BS playoff suspension from last year hasn't messed with his head...

jacko23 01-16-2013 08:38 AM

whoops.... i read the poll wrong. i voted for 30-34 POINTS. not goals. goals ill say 16. depending on linemates and injuries.

Jabroni 01-16-2013 08:45 AM

I reset and edited the poll.

Please vote again based on the number of POINTS you think he'll get in 48 games.

I chose 25-29 points.

have a feeling Hagelin is going to be a better player than Kreider.

Just a gut feeling.

I voted before you changed the heading.

I expect that he will have 30-40 points
