This year in the AHL, Peluso had 5 goals and 11 points in 36 games to go with 58 PIM. He's a St. Louis 6th round pick #160 overall in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft

MeestaDeteta 01-16-2013 11:08 AM

Basically just a tough guy/enforcer?

Vujtek 01-16-2013 11:11 AM

Any relation to Mike Peluso?

bleedblue1223 01-16-2013 11:12 AM

He could be a NHL 4th liner. His play improved, but not that much of a loss for us.

isles31 01-16-2013 11:12 AM

wow, didnt see him being picked up bc it meant he would have to take a spot on a roster, if im not mistaken how waivers work. Maybe just there to battle for a fourth line spot?

MichiganWolverines 01-16-2013 11:13 AM

He's a tough kid, not too bad of a player either.

Nope, that's exactly right. If the Jets were to send him to the AHL, they would have to put him on waivers.

And The Blues would have first crack at claiming him.

pspot 01-16-2013 11:14 AM

i usually pick him up for my 4th lin in NHL 13
good skating and endurance for a young tough guy

MichiganWolverines 01-16-2013 11:16 AM

It's not a huge deal for St. Louis, they still have Cody Beach.

Grind 01-16-2013 11:19 AM

still don't get this move for winnipeg. But a little more fight for the bottom 3-6 isn't bad.

WJG 01-16-2013 11:24 AM

This is anything but a WIN.

I don't either. I guess technically we have a 4th line spot open with Slater and Thorburn. We could also use an enforcer since we lost glass (who wasn't much of a fighter) all we have is Stuart for a regular enforcer.

My question is, what are we missing with injuries?

They just wanted to have a PST line lol

bud12 01-16-2013 11:59 AM

wish the habs claimed him. Good fighter, 23 yo and don't look out of place on the ice...... good move by the jets

HooliganX2 01-16-2013 12:04 PM

As a Blues fan I would have loved to keep him as a call up if Reaves was injured but with Reaves on the big club there just isn't room for him on the roster currently.

Crumblin Erb Brooks 01-16-2013 12:57 PM

A well regarded fighter, not sure how much else he can bring to a team.

rt 01-16-2013 12:59 PM

I'll trade you Paul Bissonnette for him.

Is he even a real guy?

I thought that he was just a Twitter account at this point ;)

No they are related but it's more of a distant relative not directly like that.

Tonellisghost 01-16-2013 03:26 PM

On Anthony Peluso.

"A hybrid enforcer type for the new less pugilistic NHL that can play honest 4rth line minutes and still drop the gloves on occasion. Not a "staged fight fighter" but more of a solid fourth liner who can fight really well".

No the Blues wouldn't. This is a common misunderstanding that gets frequently repeated on HFB for some reason.

Fleury14 01-16-2013 04:07 PM

Peluso is a redundant player with Reaves already on the Blues roster, and he's similar enough to Glass to replace him in the Jets lineup.

Flair Hay 01-16-2013 04:46 PM

I like the move for us. Probably means Machachek is headed to St Johns.
