Yesterday, Urban got the best LB in Georgia. Today, the best LB in Texas. RT @11W: Mike Mitchell commits to Buckeyes. 11w.rs/SbJUmi
Urb doing work.

I watched some of the game earlier, USC had alot of players in that game.

Ohio State's class right now is insane. Picking up Johnson and Mitchell is huge, possibility of getting 5 star safety Vonn Bell and 4 star WR Shelton Gibson would make this the best class in the country.

Miami hires former FIU coach Mario Cristobal as an assistant head coach. Cristobal, who never should have been fired in the first place, gets a nice job which he is already experienced for.

SpinTheBlackCircle 01-10-2013 11:40 AM

Cristobal is a good, good coach.

Why was he fired from FIU? It's not like they could get anyone better...

I believe the AD is friendly with Butch Davis and thought he could talk him into coaching FIU. But even if Davis was interested, he wouldn't take the job because if he did his North Carolina severance payments would stop.

Not sure what part of that the AD didn't get, maybe he thought Davis would put their friendship over a few million dollars, maybe he thought UNC would negotiate a settlement with Davis. Either way, they ended up with Ron Turner instead.

His actual title will be "Tight Ends Coach & ASSOCIATE Head Coach". And yeah, welcome home Mario! :yo: He was fired for no other reason that FIU's AD Pete Garcia is a clown.

Brad Tolliver 01-11-2013 09:04 PM

When I heard Ron Turner going to FIU I actually thought another program had hired away Cristobal. I can't believe those clowns actually fired him and replaced him iwth a guy with no Florida ties other than a year as the Bucs QB coach.

4. Oregon
5. Texas A&M
6. Georgia
7. South Carolina
8. Notre Dame
9. Louisville
10. Clemson

I think A&M is #2

Dunno. Joeckel is as good as gone, no Damontre Moore, and losing their top 2 LB's.

I'm assuming that Joeckel is staying with Matthews

Justified 01-12-2013 07:52 PM

I think that is a good list. Might have Oregon and Stanford flipped.

And Ohio State's recruiting class is very good, but Michigan's 2013 class is very much on par

Pretty much what I have. The title game teams have great classes coming in.

Michigan needs to start bringing in playmakers. That's their glaring hole for them right now.

IceDogsandLeafs 01-12-2013 08:20 PM

As far as recruiting is concerned, Michigan is the front runner for Derrick Green who is the top RB in the 2013 class by the estimates of most recruiting websites. Hoke knows how to build a team because the O-line recruits look tremendous. Alabama has shown us that big running backs and a cohesive offensive line win championships.

He is recruiting pretty well. He just needs more playmakers.

One thing I have noticed is that while tsun has brought in a lot of OL in the past two seasons (11) while Ohio State has brought in 10 DL's. Weird lol.

Right now 247 has Ohio State at #2 and tsun #6.

TheMoreYouKnow 01-12-2013 08:28 PM

Class doesn't look great at receiver though to be honest and Michigan badly needs someone who can create separation in physical man coverage at that position.

End of Line 01-12-2013 08:42 PM

One the best analogy's I've seen comparing OSU to tsun class's. Urban is recruiting to win a National Title, while Hoke is recruiting to win a B1G title.

USC is full of shady people

edit: Move Oregon down to 9 and everyone else up a spot.

If Chip flops in a few years ( I really hope hes doesnt), and with Mack Brown getting older and less productive...
