Vancouver - Phoenix

A trade I think could help both teams. Though probably would need to be done mid-season to gauge how both players are through the season.
EDIT: Sorry for trying to get Samuelsson

To Phoenix - Mason Raymond and 5th round pick

To Vancouver - Raffi Torres and a 4th round pick

I think Phoenix would like to add another top six player not the toughest but one of the fastest of the league, and very sound positioning. Could pair up with Lombardi and Boedker to form the fastest line in the NHL. This probably would be contigent on Raymond being back at 100% and playing like he did 09/10.

As for Vancouver I think Torres would be an improvement on Volpatti on the 4th line plus play good enough to play 3rd line as needed. Plus say what you want about his dirty hits when he plays he is a game changer especially in the Play-offs.

Vankiller Whale 01-17-2013 07:25 AM

No reason for Phoenix to have to add Samuelsson, imo. Their forward prospect group is already fairly weak.

DesertDawg 01-17-2013 08:34 AM

Trade Ulfie's son? Who grew up in Scottsdale? And may end up being the best player in the deal?
The Coyotes could use Torres more than what Raymond would bring to the Coyotes.

No thanks. No interest in Raymond and certainly no interest in trading Samuelsson.

Also, I should mention that I believe Phoenix is done tinkering with the roster until at least the ninth game of the season when Torres is allowed to return. They may need to re-assess some things at that point, but almost certainly not before.

I understand that and why I said from the begining this would be a midseason deal.

I also edited the proposal taking out Rodin and Samuelsson, (I understand why you guys don't want to get rid of him.) and changing the picks what do think of the updated proposal?

If you want Torres I would be more willing to give him up for a pick, don't need Raymond coming back the other way. Our forward group looks ok without him and I would rather use the space he would take up for some of the prospects that look like they could be ready to make the jump to the NHL. I'd also be willing to let go of Bissonnette for a 7th if anyone is interested lol.

Cogburn 01-17-2013 11:44 AM

Aside from being woefully out classed by what we recieve vs. what we give up in the original trade, Torres for Raymond is really not going to fly with 9 games of suspension left for Torres, and our 2nd line being destroyed by injuries at the moment. If Torres was able to play (later in the season as you said), and if Booth (at least) was healthy, and if the Canucks wanted Torres back...I just don't much care for the value tbh.

StringerBell 01-17-2013 11:50 AM

Don't think Torres got along real well with everyone in our dressing room, otherwise I'd be all for this as a midseason deal.

I could live with Torres for a pick.

If he hasn't, he should. He had a great start to last season, but had to take significant time off due a personal loss. When he returned, he could no longer skate. He never regained the ability to move his feet at an adequate level throughout the entirety of the season and post-season. He's immobile and small. It's a recipe for getting hurt.

I'd do it if we can grab Gomez for similar money. If not, I'd rather just see how Torres adjusts his game. If he does so in an effective manner, than great. If not, nobody will want him and he can join Bissonnette as a healthy scratch.

Me too. One of my favorite all time Coyotes. At a certain point, the players you love get too old to play.

NonBruinHatingCanuck 01-17-2013 04:25 PM

WHy WOuld Vancouver want Torres back ?

Theres a reason he wasn't resigned... The guy is a dirty player he always has been and he always will be.

HighAndTight 01-17-2013 04:38 PM

Didn't Higgins wait until Raffi was gone to re-sign in Vancouver?

No thanks.

NonBruinHatingCanuck 01-17-2013 04:40 PM
