I like Dowell a lot. He is a good pressbox and 4th line center guy. Palmieri and Veilleux eh.

Hopefully Palmieri isn't claimed but I have some serious doubt since he has looked good with the Aeros so far.

Surprised about Palmieri. He looked excellent and has been great. I think he might get picked up. Although that would free up a contract spot.

If Zucker is staying he better not be getting 4th line minutes. Doubt he does though.

Zucker doesn't require waivers to be sent down... He was never "re-called"...

All of the Aeros could be transported back down without waivers.

These three being waived was no shock.

I'd be surprised if no other team takes a chance on Palmieri - big, young, looking good in the AHL...

I don't think this has any effect on Zucker, he'll go back to Houston, they're not going to keep him here to sit in the pressbox.

I'm excited to see what Dumba can do at full speed. He could have laid out a few teammates last night with brutal checks.

He wasn't ever "down". He was playing in houston on an AHL contract during the lockout. He signed an NHL contract after the lockout ended, so to go back to the AHL he requires waivers. Also 2-way has no bearing on waiver eligibility.

I think Palmieri gets claimed. Playing better than expected in Houston plus he has size and skating ability. There will be a team that finds room for him. The Wild likely tried to find a trade here but this may be the easiest way of getting a contract of the books.

I do like Palmieri but it won't be the biggest loss in the world if they lose him.

I'll mildly miss Palmieri (and his magnificent mane of hair) if he gets claimed, but if Fletcher wasn't willing to take the risk of waiving him, he would have found a way to keep him up here to play or until we could trade him.

I believe those are *games played by the player*. He can sit in the pressbox all year and not trip that, if I'm right. Not that the Wild would do that, as it would suck for his development. I'm just saying if Matt is on the depth chart at #7, then he could be here more than 5 Wild games (waiting for Scandella or Brodin to get healthy) without tripping the contract as long as some of those are in the press box.

Tho if they keep him that long, I'd hope they give him at least one real NHL game in there as a consolation prize.
