Should the Leafs make a surprise move and offersheet Subban?

Would be great to bring that boy over here to replace the last Habs defense-man we signed. Give the GTA boy a 4m contract for 3 years.

TheKingSlayer 01-17-2013 07:48 PM

Would have been signed already if he only wanted 4 million.

Schenn 01-17-2013 07:50 PM

I'm sensing a title change here.

Oh, and no. We need draft picks.

Syn3rgetic 01-17-2013 07:50 PM

I think it was length, regardless, let's do 5x5 then :D

Bravid Nonahan 01-17-2013 07:50 PM

Not really interested in potentially sacrificing a young stud centre for PK Subban.

Razor 01-17-2013 07:51 PM

Stay away from this clown. He's Montreal's problem.

Idk but, was that intended?

Sundinftw 01-17-2013 07:51 PM

Not worth the risk at all

Montreal would sign both deals and we would be doing Montreal a favour. Subban wants way more. His favourite team growing up was Montreal. He won't sign for that amount or us.

SeenSchenn2 01-17-2013 07:53 PM

No. Overrated.

Baba Ganoush 01-17-2013 07:54 PM

no thanks.

Igy 01-17-2013 07:54 PM

Won't happen.

p.l.f. 01-17-2013 07:54 PM

i think he's cool :)

reilly subban

+1 Subban is over-rated.

Crispy Crust 01-17-2013 08:20 PM

Really don't want to go through that crap again.

Action Jackson 01-17-2013 08:24 PM

Subban overrated? you guys are nuts, kid is a stud

Not sure what the compensation is for offer sheets with the new CBA but would I be willing to give multiple first round picks (which is what it will probably take) to sign PK? No thanks

Would I offer him a contract if he were a UFA? In a heartbeat

Dangles McGavin 01-17-2013 08:24 PM

Subban's sick, but not worth spending a high 1st on him when we need a center so bad.

stakesishigh 01-17-2013 08:25 PM

Let's hold on to our first round picks from now on.

sangreale 01-17-2013 08:25 PM

Wouldn't it be great to have a 1st rounder 3 years in a row. Good grief.

I do not want the next GM who gives away a first rounder fired. I want him shot!

Parkdale 01-17-2013 08:29 PM

Offer sheets might make sense if the Leafs were truly "knocking on the door" of the Stanley Cup (like the Vancouver Canucks think they are). That way, the compensatory draft picks would be less likely to be lottery picks. But realistically, the Leafs are not there yet (by a long margin)...so NO. Stay away from any offer sheet scenario.

Paladin2799 01-17-2013 08:30 PM

Subban is the type of heavy energy, slick puckmoving defense that is exactly what toronto wants.

This is a Kessel type situation, and I dont think Nonis has the stones. But I would definitely trade for him.

A future defence core of phaneuf, subban, gardiner, reilly and we are looking great long term on our blueline.

Players like subban dont come around too often. And he fits the age group we currently have with lupul, kessel, etc

Kb21 01-17-2013 08:30 PM

if he was a #1C yes, but because he is a Dman no.

Stats01 01-17-2013 08:32 PM

No I wouldn't offer sheet him. We need to keep our draft picks.

thewave 01-17-2013 08:34 PM

No No No!

BayStBullies 01-17-2013 08:38 PM

Is Subban over-rated on these forums? Yes.

Is he actually over-rated? No.
