Sam Gagner vs Kyle Turris

Both were high picks in the same draft class that have struggled to break out so far. Who will have a bigger impact on their respective team this upcoming season?

ErikKarlsson 01-17-2013 09:08 PM

Turris, not biased at all. :sarcasm:

lakai17 01-17-2013 09:12 PM

Hemsky-Gagner-Yakupov

that line will get Gagner noticed this season.

He might have a 9 or 10 point night with that line.

With season totals 20 pts

Vdhawan89 01-17-2013 09:23 PM

Turris hasnt done anything , other then be drafted higher, for him to be ranked above Gagner at this point.

Orr123 01-17-2013 09:23 PM

I think Turris will be better. But I've got my homer glasses on. Even if I take them off, I think there is still a slight edge to Turris, just based on how he got continually better throughout last season AND really worked his butt off this year to put weight on, and what not.

The Latvian 01-17-2013 09:29 PM

Turris isn't in pheonix anymore. At times he showed how good of a player he can be in Ottawa. just needs to work on consistency and its not like Sam gagner is mr. Consistency.

MessierII 01-17-2013 09:33 PM

Should easily be Gagner but this is HF we're talking

Gagners out produced Turris at every level their entire careers.

Turrican* 01-17-2013 09:40 PM

But Turris has "DAT DRAFT PEDIGREE YO"

Mr Forever 01-17-2013 09:55 PM

Gagner has had the better career so far. Gagner also has two sick line-mates, he's poised to break out. Gotta go with Gagner.

No that's not it.

He's better on the ice, where it actually counts.

Well even in the 49 games in Turris career where he was actually decent he still put up numbers that Gagner has consistently beaten throughout his career.

Gagner AINEC.

Goals, yes.

Defense, by far yes.

Just a better overall contribution.

Gagner MAY outscore him... but it won't be by much and likely due to his linemates. Turris will be the better two-way player though.

jbeck5 01-17-2013 10:05 PM

I'll go with turris because he got drafted higher.

Turris AINEC.

Cam98 01-17-2013 10:08 PM

Draft position > actual performance

Turris AINEC

jbeck5 01-17-2013 10:09 PM

of course...who would you rather have crosby, or bryce salvador.

Draft position is key.

Yah, you should change your name, because you don't know much about hockey at all.

All I've got to say is it's not just about points.

But go ahead guys, keep your one dimensional 45 point scorer.

lol I hate Gagner but I'd take him over Kyle Freakin' Turris every time.

But go ahead guys, keep your no dimensional 20 point player. Let me know when he hits 30 points in a season.
