Last years deadline

I was wondering what would have happened if we tanked it a month earlier.
Then Taylor wouldnt have traded for Anson Carter and instead done a little fire sale.
We could have traded some of the player who would be gone anyway.
Guys like Lappy, Modry, Stümpel, even Luc or maybe Ziggy.
We could have gotten a bunch of draft picks and prospects and have a lineup similar to the one we have right now.

...and (even though I have nothing against Tukonen) we would have had a better 1st round pick.

IMO, keeping Straka has been a mistake, but after his 2 knee surgeries his trade value dropped considerably.

Ziggy was injured long before the deadline, so we never would have gotten anything for him since he was done for the season.

In my opinion, the return on Modry and Stumpel would have been low. I think Taylor still wanted to put a decent team on the ice. If a "Gleason" type deal was to be had Im sure Taylor would have pulled the trigger. At this point, I guess still having Aulin around instead of Carter would be better, but its hindsight and moot point since Aulin wasnt one of our better prospects anymore.
