NHL CENTRE ICE.... Free for January, $49 for season.

I heard that NHL centre Ice will be FREE for the season. What channel is it on?

Leafs at Knight 01-18-2013 08:03 PM

Pretty sure it's just for the rest of January .

Jerkini 01-18-2013 08:03 PM

Doubt very highly it'll be free.

50 bucks last I heard. Hope it's free, I would only get CBC and TSN games otherwise

Yup free for January.

Telus is charging me $49.99 for the rest of the season thereafter.

I just re-upped today.

Stats01 01-18-2013 08:54 PM

I'll just take the free games from January, good enough for me.

Shouldn't you just get them through your service? I didn't think you have to sign up for it. I assume tomorrow when I go to Center Ice I'll be able to go through my guide and watch any game. I'm with Rogers..

No bad.

Rogers forces me to buy their super sports pack to get Center ice, for a cost of $36/mo for a bunch of channels I dont care for. Ugh.

bshaw 01-18-2013 09:18 PM

Pretty sure this is like the third thread on it lol

I am with Rogers. Just got Centre Ice for $49.99 yesterday. They push the Super Sports Pack, but they do indeed off Centre Ice on its own.

egd27 01-18-2013 09:35 PM

Did I read the article right? They can't give away centre ice because the cable partners need to be considered, so it's 49.99. Okay seems like a reasonable explanation.

But gamecenter live is also $49.99? What's the explanation there?

Really? I'll give them a call tomorrow.

im also on Telus. do you know if they are giving gamecenter live codes this year? i tried to ask them but get the same answer everytime.." satyed tuned for center ice details" blah blah.

Nyax 01-19-2013 12:56 AM

Lousy Cogeco. They have no info whatsoever about Centre Ice on their website. I know they try to push the Super Sports Pack on you like Rogers does, but can you order Centre Ice on its own?

ULF_55 01-19-2013 11:45 AM

From Shaw:

No Gamecenter Live included this year with the NHL Centre Ice purchase.

Externally you can still purchase NHL Gamecenter Live directly from the NHL website I believe.

I didn't buy Gamecenter, just Center Ice.

This year, from what Shaw has said, you don't get Gamecenter included with the $49 CI package.

Sounds like if you want both it would be $98.00, but don't take my word on it.
