Anaheim's top line

What could Bobby Ryan, Ryan Getzlaf, and Corey Perry fetch if they were traded?

Would each get a top prospect, 1st, and a 2nd? or more?

HappyGilmourr 01-19-2013 02:59 AM

considering 2/3 are unsigned... I would give up:

Kessel, JVR, Gardiner, Colbrone 1st 2013

Exit Dose 01-19-2013 03:01 AM

Ryan would get something more substantial.

The new CBA creates some uncertainty with the other two, but at the moment I'll go with the historical trend and say that price sounds about right, probably missing a middle six type, given their contract status.

Krishna 01-19-2013 03:06 AM

If the price sounds good, when does Anaheim sell them?

Perry will be 28 this may
Getzlaf will be 28 this may
Ryan will be 26 this march.

If I was anaheim, I'd probably sell Perry and Getzlaf for prospects and picks. The forwards aren't getting any younger.

The defense is shaping up to be pretty good but I could see them ending up like Calgary and not making the playoffs but not being bad enough to get a better pick.

mightyquack 01-19-2013 03:09 AM

28 = over the hill? If they want to re-sign, we're re-signing them 10 times out of 10.

HappyGilmourr 01-19-2013 03:09 AM

Perry for Couturier conditional 1st if he signs
Ryan for E Kane
Getzlaf for JVR condition 1st if he signs

I'm not saying they are over the hill but they are probably going to get a long deal.

Will they be worth that money and will they be performing at that level 5+ years from now?

If that's what Getzlaf is going for then someone let GMDR know he needs to make a deal with the ducks for a new center.

Krishna 01-19-2013 03:19 AM

Getzlaf would get more than Perry would get more than Ryan most likely

Ryan could get more based on his contract

Why do we need a better pick?

WeridAl 01-19-2013 03:34 AM

The one I would trade would be Corey Perry, the Ducks have some good prospect wingers in the system and he can be replace. Ryan Getzlaf would be the tougher one to replace as big top 6 RHS C's are hard to come by. He's also the ducks captain and it's not a smart idea to trade your captain away.

You think 28 and 26 is getting old? May I ask how young you are? ;)

OilerNut* 01-19-2013 03:42 AM

Oilers should offer Horcoff, Khabibulin, and Hordichuk. Would be fair.

We take that risk. You don't let franchise players go because they might be decline near the end of their contract.

Getz2perry 01-19-2013 07:32 AM

oh wow a perry ryan getzlaf thread all in one! finally our prayers have been answered.

Anyway i think teams going for a cup would still pay an arm and a leg to have perry or getz on the team for the playoff run if it came down to that. perry or getz on certain teams would make them instantly cup favorites, if a team has the win now mentality why not pay a lil to bring a cup to your city.

Idk why people seem to think all 3 wil be available, if perry and getz are leaving then ryan is not going to be traded. Unless were trying to get a lottery pick + a bunch of prospects/picks and willing to suck for the next 3-5 years and by then we might as well kiss orange county good by and move the team to canada.

14 Forwards on the Opening Night roster with their age in parenthesis:

Rakell (19), Smith-Pelly (20), Palmieri (21), Holland (22), Beleskey (24), Bonino (24), Cogliano (25), Ryan (25), Winnik (27), Getzlaf (27), Perry (27), Staubitz (28), Koivu (38), Selanne (42).

One of the youngest forward groups in hockey, proof that you have no clue what the eff you're talking about. How many teams can you name carrying 8 forwards age 25 or under?

Our grumpy old fins ruined the average to confuse hfboards o.O plus after reading HF ive realized perry and getz age of 27 is in fact old now.

HanSolo 01-19-2013 12:18 PM

Don't be surprised to see Getzlaf get a contract soon. I don't think anyone on the top line gets traded. Especially if we're in the playoff hunt.

I feel horrible for Duck fans... it's like impossible to get 3 quality first line players like Ryan-Getzlaf-Perry... that is one of the best cores in the entire NHL... All they need is scoring depth (a lot easier to get then true 1st liners) You can trade or sign for guys like Mac, Lupul, Ribeiro, Parenteau all the time... It's not ridiculously hard to fill out a second line... But to trade for true elite talent like Perry-Getzlaf? Almost Impossible. It happens rarely and if the Ducks do this because of money that is sad for that organization.

StringerBell 01-19-2013 12:46 PM

If it seemed Perry wasn't going to re-sign and he might be available at the deadline, what would Anaheim be looking for in return?

"Over the hill" means your hairline is back past the top of your head. Getzlaf is basically "over the hill" already.

And I would reply, what would you take for something it looks like you'll be losing for nothing? Then once that's out of the way maybe we could have a real conversation ;)
