Devils beat Isles 2-1 (No Points for you, Isles....or Rangers!)

Oh what the hell....

Hope I'm not too early for this.

I mean this IS the POST-game Talk thread. Right? :sarcasm:

Anyway, TERRIFIC and IMPORTANT victory for NJ in this potentially-wild condensed season.

Everyone looked SOLID and Matteau impressed the heck out of me.

He looks more ready for regular NHL duty than I ever thought.

Zajac scored thanks to Kovy's sexy pass.

Clarkson scored thanks to him making someone ELSE fall down(Tedenby) for a change. :D

And The RAGS LOSE AS WELL!!

It's been a great night.

If the canucks, wild, and leafs lose, this will be a great day

Wild down 1-0. Go Avs!

Payce 01-19-2013 08:53 PM

Rags losing. Wild going down with traitor Zach on ice. We win.

I'll take it.

OpethNJD 01-19-2013 08:54 PM

tied for first in the league! yeah!

Emperoreddy 01-19-2013 08:56 PM

Have to be happy with that start. Obviously some rust and adjustments need to be made. Still that is pretty much exactly how you wanted to start the campaign, top line gets points, kids looking good, and Marty looking REALLY sharp.

OpethNJD 01-19-2013 08:57 PM

big test on tuesday with philthy

Zippy316 01-19-2013 08:57 PM

The Panthers attendance is embarrassing for an opening night game on a Saturday....

VegasP11 01-19-2013 08:57 PM

Teddy looked good with Elias and Clarktard. I wonder what happens when Henrique comes back.

MartyForVezina 01-19-2013 08:57 PM

The turmoil on the Rangers board after 1 loss is hilarious.

Glad Tedenby played well. 1 game closer to being able to say told ya so.

Cheddabombs 01-19-2013 09:00 PM

Awesome game by the Devils, made my realize how much I really missed watching them!

Last time I'll bet on the Canes again...... no matter what they find new ways to **** me over :shakehead. But still, I'm more happy with the Devils winning despite a few bucks lost. Here's to a hell of a season, great start!!

HeliDevil 01-19-2013 09:00 PM

Especially after a great season last year.

Just when I thought I couldn't be more impressed with Clarkson, I see his forearms.

When you have to choose between the early bird special and hockey tickets, well, a hockey game doesn't include a baked potato.

Sweatpants.

Only other Atlantic division team with a point is the Pens. Good start to the season. A little sloppy tonight, but not as sloppy as any of the teams that played the 3:00 games. Some bad passes and penalties though. And that blown coverage that led to Hamonic scoring was terrifying. However, I'll chalk that up to some cobwebs left from the lockout.

Overall, very happy with the team tonight. Might be a bit too early to say considering it was only one game, but it looks to be a promising season, despite how bad our forwards look on paper.
