Leafs/Hawks

this is assuming Kadri keeps up his production but if he does and he pass Grabovski on the depth chart is this the basis for a deal?

to Hawks Grabovski

To Leafs Bolland

Again this is only if Kadri keeps up his production but right now he's playing great and looks like he can be a #2 center. I think Bolland is the best #3 center in the NHL and I think he'd be a perfect fit in Caryle system I also think Grabovski would fit great beside Hossa on line 2

add picks where needed

why would CHI trade the best #3 C in the NHL for Grabovski who has hes moments, then he just sucks

When you can trade a #3 C for a good # 2 C you do it ....

Grabo > Bolland btw.

i dont think u actually do it.

Bolland is so valued at CHI that they dont want a #2C that is "good"

just my opinion

crazyhawk 01-26-2013 07:26 AM

No thanks.
Bolly is playing great as our 2LC right now.

This. Plus we need Bolland for the playoffs when he really wakes up. So far though, he's fitting in the top six, and it's great to know that if he can't hang there anymore he's probably the best option at 3C almost anywhere.

No he isn't. btw :sarcasm:

Agree with the above.

Hawks have finally decided to try Bolland out as 2nd line center for an extended period of time and he's showing that he belongs there.

Even last year when Bolland was 'just' our 3rd line center, I don't think too many Hawks fans would've pulled the trigger on this one. There's no reason to think about it now.

Dark Knight 01-26-2013 08:40 AM

I'd rather keep Grabo. Love him! I love Bolland as well.

Canadian Jesus 01-26-2013 08:55 AM

Both teams say no

deytookerjaabs 01-26-2013 09:03 AM

No thanks, this would hurt chemistry more than anything. Add to that, if Bolland keeps playing between Sharp and Kane and they continue to perform well he's going to rack up those assists which will increase his HF fanboy stock by a fair margin. Unfortunately, it will also increase his cap hit come 2014, but if he does well he'll deserve the raise.

Blackhawkswincup 01-26-2013 11:22 AM

No thanks

Grabo got paid and now is unaffordable for Hawks going forward

I like him but moving Bolland for him and his contract isn't smart

Agree with this. Hard to justify from the Hawks perspective when Grabo makes $2.25M more than Bolland, and Bolland is fitting well in the 2nd line center role.

As a Hawks fan though - I do think that Grabo is a better player than Bolland, but the upgrade for the Hawks wouldn't really address the teams needs at this point in time.

Blackhawkswincup 01-26-2013 11:54 AM

Nof if the Leafs decide to cut loose Bozak for some picks/prospects the Hawks should jump on it

Bozak can fill in the 3rd line C role IMO and is good at dot

Would love to get bolland, but not at the expense of grabo.Lets face it grabo plays like hes 10 feet tall and bullit proof

PoolChamp 01-26-2013 02:00 PM

The Sedins would like this trade

Bubba88 01-26-2013 02:31 PM

easy no for the Hawks. Grabo to the hawks? yes Grabo for Bolland? no

The Podium 01-26-2013 02:36 PM

This would only be feasible if and when Bozak re-signs and Kadri proves this isnt a hot streak. Hell ill take it futher, keep Grabovski until Kulemin re-signs long term and then deal him in this type of deal. I love Grabovski, but if the Leafs end up with 3 top 6 C the most expensive is likely the one out the door.

Thanks for the input but Grabovski doesn't just suck. It would be foolish to trade a good number 2 center for even the best(?) number 3 center. Leafs don't need a 37 point player. FYI, the BEST 3rd line centers get nominated for the Selke.

Bozak 01-26-2013 03:17 PM

No we're not trading our best player in our weakest position... Bolland is an elite # 3, passable #2. Grabovski (even in the haters opinion) is a solid 2nd line centre. I consider him an elite 2nd line centre - Probably is are 2nd or 3rd most valuable player. Scores points, shuts down other lines.

Unfortunately that's not true. Nowadays it's awarded to the best defensive top 6 center who also plays defense. See: Bergeron, Datsyuk, Kesler, etc

Only one winger has won it in the last 20 years, it typically goes to a center.

The last winger to win the Selke was Jere Lehtinen, over ten years and two lockouts ago.

TieClark 01-26-2013 03:34 PM

Grabo is very much > Bolland. The question is whether he is > enough to warrant 2 million more of a cap hit... even as a leaf fan I don't think so.
