Douglas Murray does his thing... Man, I love seeing these Canucks get what's coming to them :handclap:

Murray got Patty by the collar like a pitbull and he was totally ******.

Volpatti ran around in this game and Murray got him back.

Easy win for Murray.

Should mention volpatti clearly lost but also gave up 35 pounds, probably should not have fought murray.

If he didn't want to fight Murray, then he probably shouldn't have been acting like a little ***** the whole game. Tough ****. :p:

Volpatti got two quick ones in but once Murray found his range..he ate some hard shots.

Love Volpatti for this. In no way shape or form did he think he was going to win this fight. The pushback I've seen from the Canucks this year will serve them well long-term.

Acting like "a little **** the whole game"? Meaning laying guys the fu*k out? 4 inches and probably 40 pounds on Volpatti. Murray clearly won the fight, but props to Volpatti for taking him on.

4 inches is too much, Murray is 6'3 or 6'4 Volpatti is 6'1.

Volpatti is 6 foot and 210 (if even).

If he didn't want to fight Murray? Volpatti clearly initiated that fight. He's got fire, good for him. In any case, I can't believe you're criticizing him for being willing to answer the bell in a fight where he knew he'd be lucky to get a draw. Real hockey fans respect that when they see it - he's no Matt Cooke.

Not sure what Volpatti was thinking, Murray is totally out of his weight class. Kid is a little nuts, which I like but I was terrified for him the whole fight.

He did a good job of limiting how many shots he took. The last few were rough though. He initiated the fight though. I've only seen Douglas lose a fight cleanly once and that was last year to Eric Boulton..who is a top tier heavy. For a Swedish kid who played at Cornell..his fighting ability is impressive.

Pretty much. But on the other hand, if you are a player who do not hesitate to drop the gloves, wouldn't you try to do it with Murray if you got the chance just for the challenge - as a test of yourself. I do not think Volappti had any illusions about the fight as it commenced.

He (volpatti) dropped the gloves with murray, not sure what you were watching, murray certainly did not drops the gloves first :shakehead

So again, he should not have dropped the gloves with murray who was way out of his weight class.

Well, at least Volpatti got one good shot in. Jesus Murray is huge though.

I have to admit I like the way Volpatti is playing, delivering lots of hits, lots of energy.

Hmmm, Volpatti just missed two powerful swings between 0:24 - 0:26, a bit difficult to see?

Fight could have taken another direction, Murray could haven been KO'ed? ;-)

As a Swede it's kind of fun at least having one fighter. ;-)

We do have some powerful open ice hitters though in Kronwall, Edler, sometimes Ericsson with Landeskog looking promising for the future.

Murray is not a very clean fighter though, too much grabbing and hugging, but rarely looses, strong as a bear (!) but not clean.

I strongly prefer his open ice hits though. But Murray is looking a bit more polished on the ice this season, confusing. Still a bit slow on his skates but more polished.

This is perhaps a result of the Sharks hiring one of the very best defensive coach of them all, Larry Robinson?

Hmmm, is Eric Boulton the only one defeating Murray so far in a fight? I want a rematch. :naughty: Murrays NHL fight record still impressive though.
