He wasn't even Hawks property, was he? I don't believe he had an NHL contract.

Blackhawkswincup 01-31-2013 06:10 PM

Never thought much of Leblanc and this year he is struggling in AHL

Nearly 25 yrs old so not much potential outside of maybe NHL/AHL tweener

Final year of deal with Hawks at least according to Capgeek

Cullksinikers 01-31-2013 06:13 PM

They are clearing a roster spot for a blockbuster!

Just kidding.

Weird, wonder why he was signed to an NHL deal.
Makes me wonder if we were at 49 or 50 contracts, and a deal is coming.

I assume like Flick and others they though maybe he had some potential to develop into bottom 6 NHL talent

And I would say moving Leblanc was strictly to help open a spot up on Hogs roster to acqurie this guy

Wasnt going to be resigned. Gets a new start with Washington.

Blackhawks have several other RFA/UFAs in the minors. It will be interesting to see what happens to some of those players.

That's pretty much how I see it.

I think he showed a bit of promise as a shutdown center a few years ago, but he's obviously struggled since then.

Adding Beaudoin gives the Hogs a little veteran help on the wings, which might help them handle their midseason struggles.

Meh was never a Leblanc fan in Rockford. Wish him luck in Hershey though.

What dman did they acquire? Isn't this Beaudoin guy on the wing?

DisgruntledHawkFan 01-31-2013 07:51 PM

Wasn't LeBlanc a small skill player?

Your right

My mistake thought he was a dman

Hawkaholic 01-31-2013 10:40 PM

Hawks are at 47 contracts, so probably just a shake up.

Bubba88 02-01-2013 12:44 AM

I think the Hogs wanted to make room and open some ice time for others or he just wanted to go

WarriorofTime 02-01-2013 10:15 PM

By becoming an AHL regular, Leblanc was actually one of Dale Tallon's more successful late round picks.
