If you have 1 and 2

Who do you take?

Do you take Jones and Mackinnon. Stud up front and back-end.
or
Do you go with the chemistry in Mackinnon and Drouin.
or
Do you go off the board (had to put that in)

For the Leafs I would think long and hard, then take Mac and Drouin. Jones is going to be a stud...but to solidify almost an entire 1st line in one swoop, would be hard to pass up.

It 100% depends who is making those picks. As an Oilers fan, if I had 1 and 2 I'd probably go with Jones and Barkov. I know it's slightly off the board, but those two would fill the biggest two needs in Edm.

Water Knight 02-01-2013 11:36 PM

Tough choice, but in the end I'd go with a BPA strategy so Jones and Mackinnon for the Ducks I say.

Jones and Drouin would be my picks for my team

DuckJet 02-02-2013 01:29 AM

I'm tempted to say Mackinnon and Barkov because we already have a pretty studly defense as is going forward and Getzlaf/Mackinnon/Barkov/Holland down the middle would be downright filthy....Jones has too much upside.

I say Mackinnon and Jones as well

Palmieri-Getzlaf-Perry
Ryan-Mackinnon-Etem
Winnik-Holland-Smith Pelly
Karlsson-Rakell-idk lol

Fowler-Jones
Sbisa-Lindholm
Vatanen-Beauchemin

Hiller
Gibson

I'd personally pick Mackinnon and Drouin for Montreal. Keep them together for their chemistry and plus, Drouin is from Quebec.

Pacioretty-Mackinnon-Drouin
Collberg-Galchenyuk-Gallagher

That top six would be nasty :yo:

I would take Jones for sure the other pick is a bit harder...i would prob do Drouin or Mackinnon

^the only problem i can see with that very talented defence is that it's very young and inexperienced. similar to the Oilers, you'd likely need another vet to go with Beauchemin help out from time to time.

We do have Souray for the next 2 years. And Fowler is absolutely playing like a veteran. He's not quite at a Erik Karlsson level yet but we're seeing shades of Niedermayer every night. Just gotta hope that the Stoll hit doesn't hurt his confidence because he's been our best player.

There's no chance a team passes on Jones if they had the top 2 picks. The tougher question is which forward would you take.

For Chicago, I'd take Barkov.

Teravainen - Toews - Hossa
Sharp - Barkov - Kane
Saad - Bolland - Danault
Carcillo - Shaw - Beach

Keith - Seabrook
Hjalmarsson - Jones
Leddy - Brookbank

LeHabsMan 02-03-2013 01:50 PM

For Montreal, I would go for Mac and Jones. In a few years:

Pacioretty-MacKinnon-Collberg
Gallagher-Galchenyuk-Kristo
Hudon-Eller-Leblanc
Moen-Bournival-White

Subban-Jones
Beaulieu-Tinordi
Diaz-Gorges
Emelin

I think this makes most sense for Chicago though personally, i'd put Sharp on the first line and let the two Finns play together.

Interesting discussion on this on the Jackets board with the group split between the two choices. Also interestingly enough there is a split if we only had the first pick.

Me I say take the MacKinnon-Jones parlay if we get both (and at least we have that chance, albeit slight)

and take macK if we only have 1st.

still think no matter what happens with any trades or UFA's with Getzlaf, Ryan or Perry, due to good drafting the last few years, the Ducks future still looks pretty bright. :yo:

For the bruins it's jones and Mackinnon and play him on the RW. Eventual lineup..

Lucic-krecji-seguin
Marchand-Bergeron-mackinnon
camara-khoklachev-spooner
Macdermid-campbell-knight

Chara-Hamilton
Seidenberg-jones
Krug-trotman

Rask/subban
Svedberg

Ah if only
