How is P.A.P looking so far?

As an Islander fan (here in peace) who wanted him back but doesn't sign the checks.

Ivan13 02-03-2013 06:23 AM

In short, he looks really, really good.

good seems too fit good with duchene

Laista 02-03-2013 06:46 AM

I really like his play. Can be a reason to start follow some Avs games again.
How could i have miss this guy when he was playing for Islanders, he brings a lot to the table.

El_Loco_Avs 02-03-2013 08:12 AM

ufa signing of the season even if he only keeps scoring at HALF the pace he's doing right now...:handclap:

Bubba Thudd 02-03-2013 08:41 AM

PPG so far. At +8, it looks like he is currently league leader (or tied for it). I'd say we're happy with the signing.

Leads the team in goals, able to find the open areas on the ice, sees the game well. Why'd you guys let him go?

Eh, they likely didn't want to pay what he'd get on the market, which obviously ended up being a decent amount. Since the Isles are one of the highest scoring teams in the league, it looks like they got solid replacements. In any event I'm thrilled with the acquisition so far.

Avs71 02-03-2013 10:16 AM

PAP- 8 GP, 6G, 2A, 8Pts, +8
Z.P- 8 Gp, 5G, 4A, 9Pts, +1

No arguing Parise is a much better player, but were getting similar production out of PAP for a cap hit of 3.5 million less. He was definitely a nice consolation prize to not getting Parise.

SoundwaveIsCharisma 02-03-2013 10:52 AM

PAP is a lot more physical than I was expecting him to be. I was kind of expecting him to be a soft floater that could pad the stats, but he is actually very involved everywhere on the ice and is very patient with the puck. I'm quite happy with the signing thus far.

He was in no way a consolation prize. Avs FO went after him the moment the opening bells rang. He was target #1. They knew they wouldn't get Parise, but made an offer anyway. After they had already landed PAP.

I meant as a fan it was nice to get someone productive, but I get what you're saying.

Mouse21* 02-03-2013 11:51 AM

incredible

Holyhell 02-03-2013 11:54 AM

Can't wait to see him continue playing with Duchene. Good mix. Thought he was supposed to be the guy that set Duchene up though? :P

PAP said in an interview the other night that Joe Sakic called him, and PAP was as good as signed. Good to know that Joe has that affect on current FA's.

Maybe next time Sakic should call a defenseman

Actually they aren't my new team. I always liked the Hawks as my 2nd team aftet the Avs.

And since the Avs aren't giving me much to cheer for, well that leaves me cheering for the Hawks.

After all I want a team to cheer for in the playoffs.

This. PAP plays with jam. Great fit.

Frenchy 02-03-2013 02:21 PM

what i see right now, with PaP , reminds me of when he used to play in Chicoutimi .
He had an amazing season when he played with Pierre-Marc Bouchard, a good center with a lot of skills , just like JT and Duchene. How come he waited so long to put the sames numbers in the NHL ?? IDK maybe a late bloomer, or he just didnt have the chance to play with the right players yet, to bring out his talent. It probably took JT, and now Pap have all the confidence he need to succed in the NHL .

The Avs were right to bet all their chips on him , right from the get go.

Hasbro 02-03-2013 03:36 PM

He's been smearing the compitition.
