Crosby puck in the Face, Isles fans cheer "YOU SUCK!" (Warning post#1)

I can't beleive what classlessness I've seen from some Islanders fans. Crosby gets hit in the face with a puck, bleeding. Islanders fans are cheering and shouting "you suck"!

Thread warning for everyone:

If you want to criticize the fans involved you may do so, but do not generalize about fan bases.

All part of the game.

Crosby knows he doesn't suck. He would gladly take every Islander fan into his trophy room to prove it.

Big McLargehuge 02-05-2013 07:14 PM

Pathetic. That's all there is to say about that.

GarrettC 02-05-2013 07:15 PM

I am a Pens fan but not surprised by the reaction. Same thing would have occurred in every other arena but Consol.

I Hate Chris Butler 02-05-2013 07:15 PM

This has never, ever happened. I am shocked and appalled.

TheAngryHank 02-05-2013 07:15 PM

Get well soon cards would be more appropriate.

Ewan McGregor 02-05-2013 07:15 PM

Wait til they move to Brooklyn. You haven't seen anything yet

Sh00terMcGavin 02-05-2013 07:15 PM

I'm not gonna single-out Isles fans. I'm pretty sure all of our division rivals would have done the same. People hate Crosby, it's nothing new lol. Cheering for someones injury seems kinda low...but oh well.

Yeah it wouldn't happen in Consol cause everyone would be ****ing asleep

3 classles yakupovs or 4 classless subbans, take your pick

Cory Trevor 02-05-2013 07:16 PM

how bad was it? not that the degree of it should affect the situation but did he hard slap shot or was it something grazing. if he's down on the ice injured that's embarrassing.

fly4apuckguy 02-05-2013 07:17 PM

He's back on the bench!

Sigh of relief by

What, they're going to be throwing Arcade Fire CDs and hand-knitted scarves instead?

NYI Fans Clap for face injury to Crosby

What a joke, truly classless by those fans.

Hey I'm use to the "Crosby sux" chants, and I get it. But what happened there, after seeing him on the ice, ref calls for the trainers immediately, and a pool of blood is forming on the ice gushing from his face. And STILL the fans are standing and cheering/chanting at him while he skates to the dressing room.... It reminded me of Michael Irvin getting cheered for a neck injury from the Philadelphia Eagles fans. That was pathetic from the Isles fans.

Roo Mad Bro 02-05-2013 07:17 PM

Only Flyers fans would do that amirite.

Did he get up and skate off? Or was he lying on the ice? Cause there's a big difference there. When a player stays down on the ice, normally nobody says anything. But when a player gets up, most of the time the crowd ASSUMES nothing is big, and as a crowd, everything is easier to do than face to face.

Sotty 02-05-2013 07:17 PM

What do you expect from idiots that cheered when Gillies assaulted Tangradi and mocked him while he was injured.

Slap-pass deflected up.

Deflected shot under the visor. He was down in a pool of blood.

edit: Crosby back on the bench.

Commence the hat trick.

He was down on the ice bleeding. "Crosby sucks" chant as he went down the runway with a towel over his face.

Stayed down, lot of blood. Typical puck to the face. Left the ice for repairs.

Still a ******* thing to do by the fans. Not surprising after how proud they were of that debacle a few years ago.

Eh, even I cheered when Tangradi got hurt.

Dangles78 02-05-2013 07:18 PM

I didn't hear the chant....maybe if they had more than 3,000 people in the arena the chant would have been louder.

He was lying on the ice for a bit, and blood was pouring out of his face.
