lol.

I hope the Sens don't have any good D prospects in the AHL that can learn bad habits.

I'll always remember him as the guy who was -3 in a 9-3 win.

BonkTastic 02-05-2013 08:21 PM

So does the parade go down Elgin St., or Bank St.?

Sh00terMcGavin 02-05-2013 08:24 PM

This is a game-changer.

Nuckles37 02-05-2013 08:25 PM

I guess this makes Karlsson expendable?

Manny Malhotra.

Let's make this happen.

Nova III 02-05-2013 08:38 PM

Adds some competition to that 7th dman spot on the B-sens.

RealisticLeaf55 02-05-2013 09:57 PM

Oh man, please play him against the leafs. We need to remember our ol' pal Brett Lebderp.

You joke, but he may end up actually making top-6 in Bingo...sad state of affairs.

no if he makes the big teams top 6 THAT is a sad state of affairs.

SuperJayMann 02-05-2013 10:11 PM

Nice signing, I predict Ottawa having a sub .500 record now until Lebda is released.

HarrisonFord 02-05-2013 10:21 PM

For my team's success, I hope that he plays in the NHL. He has a way of sneaking onto NHL team's rosters, I don't know how

Emerica 02-05-2013 11:17 PM

Damn right.

We're one injury to defense away from another AHL Dman playing in the Ottawa top 6. Lebda would be the only with any kind of experience in the NHL.

Phion Keneuf 02-05-2013 11:26 PM

If he plays on the Sens, you will have a taste of what we leafs fans had to go through.

Guy is HORRIFIC.

uncleben85 02-05-2013 11:27 PM

...Good luck. All I can say.

Tyler Eckford has some NHL experience. Gryba would be the next in line for a call up from Bingo and imo Claesson has played pretty well lately. Lundin should be back soon too. This is just a move for the farm. Now they need to find another player to help out with the offense.

Don't be surprised if he's playing for Ottawa at some point this season, Paul MacLean was talking about him today and saying he was very familiar with him from their days together in Detroit.

That said, he was released earlier this year from an AHL try-out with Chicago's affiliate in Rockford, so I wouldn't expect it.

THIS. I thought of that as soon as they announced it on Sportsnet East. The 9-3 win by the Leafs was against Atlanta Thrashers, right?

FissionFire 02-05-2013 11:32 PM

If Lebda sees any time in Ottawa you know their season is officially doomed.

Yup... Leafs had 4ish pp goals (who would've thought haha), but still. How do you manage to be on the ice for all 3 and not for any ES goals for.

He wasn't on the ice for any of the 9 I don't think.

Bourne Endeavor 02-05-2013 11:39 PM

Get ready for the playoffs!

I follow the B Sens and I would say be VERY surprised if Lebda sees anytime with Ottawa. Borowiecki, Benoit, and Wiercioch have all played well filling in for Cowen, Lundin and Gonchar. They've shown to be capable enough for the jobs while Gonchar and Lundin will both be back soon (Gonchar probably Thursday as he has the flu). Gryba has been very good for Bingo, he's a favourite among the Sens brass and is the next call up, so you'd have to go pretty far down the depth chart to see Lebda in Ottawa.

Its probably safe to say he's behind Claesson and Eckford on the depth chart as well. He'd be competing with likes of Ben Blood and Chris Wideman.

He was easily the worst Dman on the team in the game's I saw - granted, it was only 2.

I don't like to put much stock into +/-, but my thing about it is if one player is far and away the worst or best on the team, it means something.

Rockford's D corps this season:

Ryan Stanton - GP45, +5
Klas Dahlbeck - GP39, +4
Shawn Lalonde - GP29, +4
Adam Clendening - GP42, Even
Joe Lavin - GP17, Even
Nick Leddy - GP31, -2
Dylan Olsen - GP33, -6
Ben Youds - GP12, -6

Brett Lebda - GP27, -12
