Saw that coming. Not necessarily to the Devils though.

Exit Dose 02-06-2013 04:34 PM

Good for Loki.

That would be a terrible return

Analyzer 02-06-2013 04:35 PM

Renaud Lavoie says it as well. For a 5th round pick.

Reverend Mayhem 02-06-2013 04:36 PM

Interesting...two SC Final foes make a trade 8 months after the ordeal.

Leo W 02-06-2013 04:36 PM

See ya Lotki, wish we could've gotten more for you but it happens. Hope you can become a full time NHL'er in NJ.. Or maybe not because we traded you for scraps. :D

Rivet52 02-06-2013 04:36 PM

No surprise to see him traded finally. He had no hope in L.A. anyway.

Pretty cheap price for the Devils so good trade for them. He should get an opportunity in the NHL there. We'll be able to see what he can do if given the chance.

Crisp Breakout 02-06-2013 04:36 PM

Wow... only a 5th. That's surprising.

Leo W 02-06-2013 04:37 PM

PS..Another source:

@mayorNHL

#LAKings have sent center Andrei Loktionov to the #NJdevils for a 5th round draft pick in 2013. Answers the question of his market value.

Big McLargehuge 02-06-2013 04:37 PM

Terrible return.

SERE 24 02-06-2013 04:37 PM

If it's really for a 5th than Sather's a jackass. Our forward depth is all kinds of messed up right now.

Top 6 Spaling 02-06-2013 04:38 PM

Easily would have given a 3rd or 4th...weird.

avsman 02-06-2013 04:38 PM

Great deal for the devils

OriginJM 02-06-2013 04:38 PM

...5th?

wow, devils won this handily

Or maybe LA didn't want to give a possible NHL roster player to a fellow Stanley Cup contender and would rather give it to NJ who are less of a threat than NY is.. That is of course assuming the Kings can put it back together.

416Leafer 02-06-2013 04:39 PM

I agree, that's pretty surprising.

Hard to imagine a team like Columbus for example (there are multiple potential examples) who is thin up front both on the NHL roster and in the prospect pool wouldn't have beaten a 5th.

hlaverty06 02-06-2013 04:40 PM

A ****ing 5th? Hell yeah

Zippy316 02-06-2013 04:40 PM

Scouting report from any Kings fans?

Jaromir Jagrbombs 02-06-2013 04:40 PM

Was it actually only for a 5th? That's quite surprising, you'd think there'd be more than one team willing to top that.

That's a WHOLE lot more speculation than me just assuming Sather didn't want him.

This argument would hold some weight if you hadn't just played the Devils in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Lombardi's pretty good at pissing away young, talented forwards in the system. First Holloway and Moller(if you count him, I know some wouldn't), now Loktionov.
