NEWS & NOTES

QUOTES TO NOTE

Games like that where youíre not playing too bad, the PP can give you a boost and weíre not doing that.
Itís pretty simple. The players are out there for a reason, weíve got to make plays.
- Brad Richards

I thought we outplayed them for a while and created enough chances to tie it up and we didnít.
We have to focus on our starts. Itís tough when youíre behind.
- Henrik Lundqvist

We need some really good players to make some really good plays.
And weíre not getting really good plays from our really good players consistently enough.
- John Tortorella

Riverdale 02-06-2013 09:35 PM

Win.

Please GOD just have them win

Kane One 02-06-2013 09:35 PM

I'll be there. LGR!

bubba5 02-06-2013 09:36 PM

Here's to Miller and Krieder having a big game. Let them loose Torts!

Fire AV 02-06-2013 09:38 PM

Chances of Cally?

silverfish 02-06-2013 09:38 PM

First (and probably only unless I get a job) game I'll be at this season.

Hope I didn't waste my money! Excited to get to the Garden for the first time since May, way too long.

LGR

We want fishsticks!

Stay out of the box.

Heyoooo* 02-06-2013 09:43 PM

Flying to Denver, wont be able to watch.

Just ****ing win please.

SnowblindNYR 02-06-2013 09:43 PM

Are Miller and Kreider really on the 4th line and Asham, Boyle, and Halpern on the 3rd? Miller and Kreider have more offensive talent in their pinkies than those guys have in their body.

Kevin27nyi 02-06-2013 09:53 PM

For the Isles lines switch Okposo and Boyes and then McDonald and Cizikas.

The Gloaming 02-06-2013 09:55 PM

Please win against the Fishies.

Stay out of the box.

Fix the damn powerplay.

Let Miller and Kreider loose.

Hit all the fishies that you see.

LGR.

Clowes Line 02-06-2013 10:09 PM

If we lose, sign Malik. Can't hurt.

The Dark Passenger 02-06-2013 10:13 PM

Can't believe Aucoin has stuck in the NHL (albeit with the Fishies). Remember watching him play in a small rink in Northfield, VT in college.

That said, LGR!

charlie460 02-06-2013 10:15 PM

I just want to see a good effort.

McNashty 02-06-2013 10:34 PM

Please, Please, Please win.

The Underboss 02-06-2013 10:40 PM

Looking forward to a good game. Good luck!

Glen Sathers Cigar 02-06-2013 10:40 PM

I'm going to the game, first of the season. I'm actually going to be in one of the new boxes, anyone know how they are?

BlueshirtBlitz 02-06-2013 10:46 PM

This is as close to a must win as we'll get this early in the season. After losing to the Devs and the Pens we really need to start winning against the division.

Not gonna be able to watch it.

Killem Dafoe 02-06-2013 10:59 PM

Not counting on an effective PP, but win this game please. So we can get back to .500

Also, Miller gets his first NHL point. LGR

That's most likely how Torts will start the game. No way in hell it stays like that. Miller and CK will be getting minutes with the big dogs before you know it.

Definitely not a must win. Why do people use that term so freely? This team has won 3 of the last 5 and 4 of the last 6...and this game, game #10 is a must win? What's in the water around here?

That said, a win would be nice. Time to start playing some Rangers hockey!

After a 1-3 start, getting over .500 is important. Stringing more good games together. It doesn't look bad except they lost division games, which are 4 point games when it comes to the standings. Islanders are supposed to be the bottom team in the Atlantic. Beating them is a must. Cannot lose to a team that is supposed to, and still is, the bottom team in the division.

It'd be like losing to the Caps if we played in the SE currently. Cannot happen.

I'm thinking 3-1 win. Islanders offense is good, but IMO Hank is getting better and better. He plays well at home vs the Islanders too. Expect Nash and Kreider to be our best forwards. Isles D is small. They should be able to take advantage of that. Hickey, Streit, Strait, and MacDonald are not physical. Must take advantage of that. Boyle gets on the board this game.

Glennsoe 02-06-2013 11:44 PM

It can't get much worse...can it ?

I mean...it has to improve.....right...

haveandare 02-06-2013 11:47 PM

Islanders' special teams are no joke. Gotta stay out of the box.

Callagraves 02-07-2013 12:04 AM

Win incoming.

It took them 10 games to get it together last year. It'll be similar this year.

Miller and Kreider come out huge, and the entire team is inspired by the play of a couple of rookies.

Hank plays out of his mind, gets his confidence back, and reverts to near last year form. Not quite Vezina quality Hank, but more than close enough.

They gut out a win here, get Girardi back, get Cally back, and the team take off like a rocket, with the PK improving, and the powerplay getting out of the bottom 10 in the league.

You heard it here.
