Jason Spezza

Just interested in what other teams would give for Jason Spezza in the off season...

Clamshells 02-07-2013 11:53 AM

not enough to consider dealing him

Benny FTW 02-07-2013 12:01 PM

Prospect with #1 center potential ++

Healfezza 02-07-2013 12:02 PM

He isn't available...

FireEverybody* 02-07-2013 12:06 PM

2nd rounder + B prospect .. IF you hold on to 2m of his contract.

Oh, so THIS is why Toronto doesn't have a first line centre.

He's 29. I guess those 84 points last season didn't help the team that much.

They wouldn't...

derriko 02-07-2013 02:44 PM

Well if we were to get Weiss for instance, I think trading him could be an option (unrealistic yes, but possible. And for the record I would pretty much never trade him)

It would take a top line winger around the same age or younger than Spezza.

alpine4life 02-07-2013 02:53 PM

here we go... Not for sale, he's gonna be in OTT for a few more years for sure

Benny FTW 02-07-2013 02:59 PM

More people need to read the OP.

The OttoMan Lion 02-07-2013 03:00 PM

If we acquired Weiss, then maybe I would trade Spezza for Keith, Larsson ++, Weber, OEL or Yandle+++ but other than for a legit #1D - while also strengthening C depth elsewhere - I don't have any interest in moving Spezz.

Cujomi 02-07-2013 03:16 PM

Spezza will play out his career as a Sen. He has said before how much he admires Alfie for playing for the same team his entire career and I believe he will do the same.

Nobody will ever make an offer that would make us consider moving Spezza as he is the backbone of the team (along with Karlsson) and one of the top centres in the league.

Move along.

OmniSens 02-07-2013 03:20 PM

Well, so far the threads been a good read.

I'd expect a 1st, 2nd, 2 top prospects

Disclose 02-07-2013 03:23 PM

cant believe people would trade him. i look ottawa line-up today without him and the 2nd center is Smith... come on.
a PPG center with his talent is hard to find.

since this wasnt the question i would say: a top 6 forward + 1st?

Wondercarrot 02-07-2013 03:41 PM

Standard Disclaimer:
We're not trading him, for any number of reasons - the primary being he's awesome.

So that aside, his value:

Top 5 pick, and your best prospect (we pick)

quantity crap like top 4 D, top 6 forward + pick is useless to us. (not that the package is worthless, its just worthless to us in a deal for Spezza)

HavlatMach9 02-07-2013 03:48 PM

Like Malkin, he won't return as much as you'd think because there's no guarantee he will stay with the team after being a UFA.

Dick Whitman 02-07-2013 04:27 PM

Spezza's value:

Not as much as we think.

Not as little as what most non-sens fan would offer.
