The Biggest Loser

Curious to hear each teams biggest draft disappointment, maybe we can spin a couple of "change of scenery" trades. The players should be currently in the system.

Teams would be silly to trade for him. He'll be released in the summer, so other teams could sign him for free.

It's really possible but that's kind of the idea of the thread...pretty well every team has one!

BigBenSF* 02-09-2013 09:22 PM

Eric Tangradi. Doesn't look like he can fit in the top 6 with us, but he has a lot of talents (size, awareness) and can be a guy who can get in front of the net and help score goals.

I never said teams will trade for him... I just said hes a draft disappointment

I know it might be too early to say this but I think Siemens is a bust, thinking we could have gotten Beartchi or Murphy.

Flames rebuilder 02-09-2013 09:36 PM

Doesn't necessarily have to be a player who's skill set didn't progress, it could also be a player decimated by injuries, possibly like Patrice Cormier from the Jets

Zippy316 02-09-2013 09:46 PM

Martians Tedenby, although he just needs more time to get stronger. Wouldn't mind flipping him for a similar guy but more in the mold of a puck possession, big bodied left winger, rather than offensive and nifty forward.

Tangradi for Tedenby could be a good trade, but I don't think Lou does that within the division. This is coming from the GM who wouldn't give the Penguins a 5th round pick for Skoula, instead making Burke acquiring him and then giving Burke a 5th round pick for him.

Voracek hasn't been what I've expected this year, although he's starting to come around. Ditto for Brayden Schenn. Those are the two that come to mind

Yeah it is WAY too early.

I think he is saying a player the Pens selected, instead of acquired. Tangradi came from Anaheim.

Pittsburgh's might be right now Kevin Veilleux, 2nd in 2007. Struggling in the ECHL.

I would be game for that deal. If I recall, Tedenby has ridiculous speed. He has some glaring flaws, but doesn't lack ability.

MountainGoat 02-09-2013 10:54 PM

Tedenby, not a bust yet but he's getting close

jameswrjobe53 02-09-2013 10:55 PM

Brett Connolly

Rodin and Sauve come to mind. Especially Rodin considering how much management hyped him up at the time of the pick. No first round disappointments though.

Do we still own his rights? Even if we do i don't think anyone will give us anything for him, he's been flopping around Europe over the last few years

Mr Forever 02-09-2013 11:29 PM

Maybe Paajarvi, but he's looking pretty good this year in his role. Alex Plante, Ryan Omarra.

i'd have to agree with your choice of Keven Veilleux. just a huge disappointment.

Nyquist 02-09-2013 11:32 PM

Thomas McCollum is a pretty big bust
