Normally, I would think the Blues would come out in dominant fashion after the sweep last season. But I thought that after the Detroit loss on the Backes penalty. Then after the Nashville embarrassment.
I think the team psyche is a bit fragile right now. There were some positives after the Anaheim game. I actually think the majority of the team's problems can be traced back to poor goaltending. Yeah, there are some questionable decisions with the puck around the blueline occasionally, but guys are trying to do each others' jobs on defense...and its because of a mistrust of the goalie (in my opinion). Hopefully having Halak back (and hopefully playing sharp) will help. Its nice to be on the good end of the back-to-backs for a while (the opponent is the tired one, and we're at home.) I'm disappointed they didn't get the two points from Anaheim, but at least they managed to force OT. |
Good luck guys! After Ducks stole one point from you I hope you guys take your aggressions out on the Queens.

With Halak back I see the blues pulling out a victory.
|
I think we will see Blues hockey tonight. Halak will make a couple of saves that Elliott has not been able to recently to keep the momentum going. I think this will be a good game. The Kings played a very good game yesterday but Howard stole the game for the Wings. I don't think we'll need that kind of effort out of Halak, but he will need to be good.
|
Power play is heating back up, I expect a little rust from halak but also for the defense to step up
|
This one could go either way. I'll say 4-3 Blues win but not really confident one way or the other.
|
I wonder if their is too much faith in Halak? After all, he is just getting over a groin injury and hadn't played well before that. Might take a little for him to get back in the right groove.

I love Sobi but he shouldn't be in the top-9 over Dags if he is not playing center anyway, I have a pretty good feeling about this one, just got my new Blues shirt and I hope the Kings are still down after yesterday ugly loss Lets go Blues! |
They have taken some steps in the right direction the last two games, this should be a win since they're the more rested team and LA is having defensive issues.
If they were to lose this one I believe it could be a big indicator this team is lacking on ice veteran leadership. |
You can pencil in Bernier as the Kings starter.
|
Schwartz didn't seem to have a bad enough game to warrant D'Agostini finding a spot IMO. Maybe practice caused Hicth to think differently?
I actually liked Schwartz seeing some time on the 4th. It looked as though he simplified his game and took a more proactive approach. |

I'm pretty curious about Redden and Polak. I think Cole took a step forward, so I'm pretty happy seeing him with Pietro.
|
I don't think there is anything wrong with Schwartz sitting a game here and there.

as long as our defensemen are smart with the puck in our own zone we'll be alright. Im fine when petro's in the corner and does a toe drag and passes it up the boards all in one motion but he needs to stop doing it on his off hand and in front of the net just keep it simple and be the "best player" on the team as usual. I think Shatty will keep up his stellar play tonight as he was personally embarassed from the playoff series and he worked out this offseason specifically so the kings and teams like them wouldn't take advantage of him in the corners again.
Expect a hard fought battle but i think we pull it off with a couple PPG and a 100% yes i mean perfect penalty kill tonight |

Wish I was home to watch tonight!
Hopefully Halak shows up |
Just scored some club seats! Boom
