Second game of a back to back?

I'll be satisfied if we get at least a point out of this.

Modo 02-12-2013 11:43 PM

Let's go STARS!!! :yo: :yo:

Here's hoping they keep that train rollin' right along! :D

starsfan24 02-13-2013 08:19 AM

2nd game of back to back?? We lose.

Satan 02-13-2013 09:51 AM

Love the back to back Western Canada games especially when I've got back to back midterms.

Another late night and hopefully another W.

Bachs in? Roussel in?

Frozen Failure 02-13-2013 10:01 AM

Yay, I have class tonight so I totally can't watch this.

Brand New Stars 02-13-2013 10:16 AM

Gonna be at the game tonight, can't wait to knock back some "heroin beers."

Bachs definitely better be in. Don't know how you take Garbutt out after last night...

Satan 02-13-2013 11:25 AM

Agreed, Garbutt did a lot of good stuff last night.

Rome/Larsen out for Big Rig? That'll be 6 GP for Oleksiak if he plays which means he'd probably be up for the rest of the year

I could see them sitting Smith or Vincour though. I think they want to have a fresh forward based on comments yesterday.

Games played has nothing to do with contract status if that's what you're thinking. He's a pro now, the first year of his ELC has been burned either way.

Satan 02-13-2013 12:27 PM

Ah, makes sense - my ELC knowledge really isn't there plus for some reason I thought he signed the ELC this summer.

The way you worded that could be confusing to some people. Burning a year is what they did with Reilly Smith. Playing him in the NHL burned a year that otherwise would not have counted as a contract year.

Like Tomas Vincour, Jamie Oleksiak's birth date is considered late since it falls between September and the end of the year. Even if he didn't play a single game in the NHL this season, he was playing on the 1st year of his contract.

I get you probably understood that, but I could see people being thrown by your usage of burned a year.

piqued 02-13-2013 12:42 PM

Alright, "the first year of his ELC has been used" if you prefer.

Brand New Stars 02-13-2013 12:43 PM

Is that like saying once you're in the AHL you start eating up the contract years?

piqued 02-13-2013 12:46 PM

Sort of... but prospects can also join the AHL team late in the season on ATOs that don't use up the ELC years.

What if there's a Flames fan who buys their ticket in order to see Woywitka knowing that it's the only time the Stars will visit this season? Imagine the depths of confusion and disappointment.

piqued 02-13-2013 03:02 PM

When Fistric and Fiddler were having their little set-to last night I was thinking what a shame it was that Fistric wasn't traded to the Flames instead so we could have the possibility of recreating the Fistric/Nystrom helmet swinging incident in reverse.

Brand New Stars 02-13-2013 03:04 PM

That helmet swing was one of my favorite moments of the last few years (No playoffs = Pathetic favorite moments).

Is there any video of Fiddler/Fistric; was it video worthy?
