I agree, I think it will go:

Tampa
New York
Toronto
Baltimore
Boston

With no team cracking 95 wins. 4 of the 5 teams could easily win it (and Boston isn't going to be nearly as bad as they were last year, IMO.)

Really premature World Series prediction, subject to change: Nationals > Tigers

Anaheim is difficult to crown because they did get Josh Hamilton but their problem last year was pitching

Could see Rangers winning division...or even Oakland

Comes down to Oakland and Texas IMO. Getting Hamilton is nice and dandy but Angels rotation after Weaver and Wilson is a mess. Rangers wont miss Hamilton as much as people think. They dont have 1 player to replace Hamilton but Berkman, Pierzynski are good additions along with young players like Profar, Olt, Martin ready to step in.

Unfortunately I think you are right.

Al East

Yankess- Still the class of the division
Rays- Very deep in pitching still
Red Sox- Just reloaded
O's- Good young team
Jays- Not enough to be considered

Al Central

White Sox- Very deep team
Tigers- Couple flaws dont put them on top
Indians- Not enough to topple the two giants of division
Royals- baby steps towards mediocore
Twins- Will still beat the WS

AL Weast

Angels- Hamilton shows up 20 pounds lighter...hmmmm
Rangers- will make trades to get pitching
A's- played over their heads last year
M's- still the M's
Lastros- now the bottom in a weak division

NL East

Nats- my boy Bryce will lead the charge
Phils- got one more season in those arms
Braves- very little upgrade over last year
Mets- just mediocre
Marlins- will get better some year

NL Central

Reds- Dusty will find a way to ruin this team, tho
Cards- Cant ever count them out
Cubs- this is a really deep team
Brewers- no pitching
Pirates- luck doesnt work two years in a row

NL West

Dodgers- spending money for good reason
Giants- always in the hunt
Padres- sleeper
D-Bags- Nothing
Rockies- even less

WS- White Sox over the Nats

Biggest dissapointment- Jays

Might supreise- The Flubs

SJSharksfan39 02-14-2013 01:51 PM

I'll just do standings. Might do awards later:

AL East:

Rays
Yankees
Orioles
Blue Jays
Red Sox

AL Central:

Tigers
White Sox
Indians
Twins
Royals

AL West

LA Angels
Oakland A's
Texas Rangers
Seattle Mariners
Astros (It's going to be weird thinking of Houston as an AL team)

NL West

San Francisco
LA Dodgers - This race for first is going to be a lot of fun
Arizona
San Diego
Colorado

NL Central

Cincy
Cardinals
Brewers
Pirates
Cubs

NL East

Nationals
Braves
Phils
Mets
Marlins

My pick for the World Series:

Nationals over the White Sox

Where is Profar going to play though? Isn't he strictly a SS? Isn't that where Andrus is every-day? It wouldn't make sense to have Profar on the roster for one game every week, if that.

Olt - He's primarily a 3B. On most teams, he'd be playing there in the majors. But on the Rangers, he's learning the corner OF's positions and also some 1B to get him some at-bats.

Martin - Curious to see how he plays out. Some say he's going to play CF, some say he'll be in LF. But can he be an every day player is the question?

[Sorry, didn't mean to hijack the thread with this.]
