It felt be good to be able to make strides during the game, and I want to continue to do that, hopefully, in the next game. There’s no trick to my game when you’re my size. It’s when you get the puck, first off, you have to get the puck, and then you hold on to it and then have patience, because I should be able to use my size against anybody outside of Zdeno Chara. You know, that one would prove a formidable foe for me. It’s just getting confidence with the puck and holding on to it. When you play with Stoll and Lewis, they have a way of dragging you with them. You watch those guys skate, and the way they play, it helps me. I think everybody, though, as a whole, played really well tonight. It’s a nice feeling as a veteran guy seeing the young guys the way they’re playing, and knowing that we can interchange pretty much anybody for any position. We took a step in the right direction. It’s a tough break {Alec Martinez’s injury} It happens. But yeah, you have to give one of the stars of the game to the five D, because any time you lose a player early, they’re going to log a lot of minutes. The other team, you know their coaches tell them to lean on the five guys that are left, maybe make it four. It’s a great job by our five D-men."

You know, I thought last night in Detroit we deserved at least a point, and I was really happy with their performance. They worked really hard and it paid off. I was just trying to stay focused. I think that’s how it’s been all year. I think last year we were giving up a lot of shots, but from the outside. This year, just on and off. We’ve just got to….find a way to stay sharp and come out with the save that we need to. It is a big relief. I knew I had to come out big – not only for myself, but for the team. For us right now, we’re working really hard, and it just seems like it doesn’t go away and I was really happy that we worked hard and it really showed tonight for two points."

NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER

Will Jack get booed? I hope not. Yes, he's been ******** but that's because he actually wanted to stay in LA.

I hope not. He's done nothing to warrant any boos whatsoever. He never complained, signed his own discount, long term, deal, and did everything asked of him. It wasn't his choice to leave LA. He played well for us. He should be cheered. Played over 300 games for us. I'd even put together a little send off video during a whistle or intermission.

Sutter pours bourbon 02-15-2013 05:38 PM

I'll be dissapointed if they boo J.J.

It's not necessarily comparable, but I imagine Carter was really hearing it from the fans in the last one in Columbus?

Also, Lewis is due for a goal here... how long can you go getting 12 or 13 mins a night with zeros across the board?

KingKopitar11* 02-15-2013 05:58 PM

Please let's win and not suck. Carter I have faith in you.

Maybe if he scores or actually gets a PLUS...

SLang 02-15-2013 06:58 PM

I won't be booing Jack.

SLang 02-15-2013 06:58 PM

Well, unless he does something stupid like run Kopitar....then I'll boo the s*** out of him.

Puck U 02-15-2013 07:24 PM

With Wisniewski out, Jack will be sporting an 'A' tonight ... atta boy MF'er :thumbu:

:dunno: oh ... I dunno  first I've seen of it, don't recall seeing him with it when we played in Ohio ?

Edit: Pic of that game ... he's (#7) not wearing an A

Telos 02-15-2013 07:53 PM

He's worn it for at least a few weeks, not sure if he started the season with it though.

The Butcher 02-15-2013 08:01 PM

no boos for jmfj, no reason to.

Let's do this.

Sydor25 02-15-2013 08:11 PM

I'm very impressed that Sutter is going with Bernier. Bernier better not **** up this opportunity.

First game back after a road trip with 3 days off doesn't bode well for LA. SJ was just schooled by Columbus too.

It happened a month ago: http://bluejackets.nhl.com/club/blog...L%7CCBJ%7Chome

Some news just announced by the Blue Jackets: they have named three assistant captains to start the 2012-13 NHL season.

Derek Dorsett, Jack Johnson and RJ Umberger are the three players to wear "A"s when the team takes the ice tomorrow night against the Nashville Predators. Blue Jackets head coach Todd Richards has said throughout Training Camp presented by OhioHealth that the team has no timetable on naming a full-time captain; rather, he prefers to let leadership rise from the dressing room and let the next captain be the perfect fit.

Johnson, 26, came to Columbus via trade from the Los Angeles Kings last February and instantly made himself at home with the Blue Jackets. He fit like a glove both on the ice and in the locker room, and was immediately logging top-four minutes on the blue line for Richards. He wore the "A" during his time in Los Angeles and was one of the team's young leaders, and has scored at least 35 points in three consecutive seasons.
What the hell is up with that? Sure, he may have been a locker room leader, but he never wore an 'A' for LA, did he?

KingCanadain1976 02-15-2013 08:18 PM

I hope a big game out of the defense without alec willie and matt. J bernier starting should be motivated extra hard to show he should be a starter. I expect Carter to have a hugeeeeeee game against them. I think bloodbath 5 1. Go Kings Go !!!!!

King'sPawn 02-15-2013 08:30 PM

Jack doesn't deserve a boo. Class act all the way.

I just hope the Kings play a strong game and win. Doughty's due for a goal

Chazz Reinhold 02-15-2013 08:40 PM

I hope people do not boo Jack. There is absolutely no reason to.

FrozenKing18 02-15-2013 08:48 PM

Lets do this!

123slam 02-15-2013 09:20 PM

I never again wanna wait that long in between games, and thankfully, I won't have to. Brutal stretch coming up. Need to take advantage of these games while we can.

Raccoon Jesus 02-15-2013 09:21 PM

Battle for last place :sarcasm:

But really, time to start stringing some wins together. Everything positive has been trending up (besides injuries, grr). Time to get some results to show for it...
