Hawks defeat Sharks 4-1

Hawks win and improved to 11-0-3 on season

Emery with 27 saves , Hammer with goal , Kruger goal + assist and Mayers 2 assists

3rd and 4th line were difference tonight as both teams stars were mostly quiet

deytookerjaabs 02-15-2013 11:09 PM

That was lovely.

RomersWorld* 02-15-2013 11:10 PM

Toews intangibles got us the win. It is like Michael Jordan's secret stuff drink from Space Jam.

Should've got first star.

:sarcasm:

RobinDIF 02-15-2013 11:11 PM

Krüger gave his stick to someone in the crowd. He was always such a great guy here.

I remember when I stumbled into him at Burger King, and I was all drunk and therefore didn't think twice about starting to talk to him. I was like "Hello, I am Robin". And would have totally understand if he didnt want to talk to a drunk teenager but he reached his hand out and said "Hello Robin, how you doing?" and I think he talked more to me than I talked to him.

I hope all you guys will come around to enjoy having him here some day.

EmeticDonut 02-15-2013 11:12 PM

Hawks looked great and the Sharks looked awful. Simple as that. Honorable mentions to Krüger and Emery.

couturefan39 02-15-2013 11:13 PM

You guys are good.

He even accept my friends request on facebook after that. He most get hundreds of people adding him there. (Him and Shaw write some weird messages to each other)

Great story. Thanks for sharing. Kruger had his trial by fire last year. Hes improved all areas and is cementing his place as a dependable C this year.

So is San Jose. It wasn't the Sharks night, but you guys are closer to the team we played last time. We just had scrappy play tonight and that was the difference.

I think a coaching change could do your Sharks some good

Havlat on 4th line :help:
Murray in lineup :help:
Lack of discipline/fundamentals :help:

Once I finally made it to the UC I got see this team firing on all cylinders. Very few mistakes, lots of great effort. Kruger's hard work is paying off. Saad continues to follow in the footsteps of Capt. Intangibles and contributes on every shift.

@adamjahns: That look on Toews' face (a grin and an eye roll) said: "I have no idea why I'm one of the stars of the game."
I thought the SAME thing watching the "Stars of the Game." Kruger deserved #1. IMO #2 should have probably been Emery and #3 Hammer, honorable mention to Shaw. Toews got 9 PIM for "fighting" Thornton and that was about it. It's pretty clear they wanted a fan favorite to skate out there after the win though, so Toews got one, but when I saw him skate out there I thought that he felt it was a joke too.

Doug Wilson should go first, but I agree.

Toews in the post game presser. Refers to last year and standing up for himself.

HockeySensible 02-15-2013 11:28 PM

Wait.. Kruger did or didn't get 1st star? Not that it matters much, but it should have been:

1. Kruger
2. Emery
3. Hammer

Spectra 02-15-2013 11:28 PM

Great win, still undefeated and going for the record!

w00d 02-15-2013 11:30 PM

Crawford: 7-0-3, 1.65 GAA, .935 SV%, 1 SO
Emery: 4-0-0, 2.21 GAA, .930 SV%

Not a damn thing wrong with our goaltending.

They also showed the cheapshot from Thornton last year.

Probably because he lost some important draws!!!! :sarcasm:

Toews is a tank 02-15-2013 11:40 PM

Well, I don't suppose it gets a whole hell of lot better then this does it chaps? Stanley Cup or bust I say.

BronYrAur 02-15-2013 11:48 PM

Great game from Hawks. Comprehensive beatdown of the Sharks, who are just totally struggling. That team is joke. Struggling having not one any of their last six and they still come into the UC trying to connect on fancy plays and it just didn't work. Their offense looked anemic even when occupying the Hawks' zone.

Thornton totally took a pretty pathetic dive when he got hit by Toews against the boards....good on JT for going after him. A pretty weak hit by Toews and the much bigger Thornton goes down. What a joke.
