Tyler Seguin

How much can Boston get from Tyler in a player trade?

The Dangly One 02-17-2013 01:57 PM

Hard to value potential

Seatoo 02-17-2013 01:58 PM

How much can they get from him? Depends on the motivation I suppose that he has and can be instilled by the coaching staff

:sarcasm:

HankTheTankYoLo 02-17-2013 01:58 PM

but lets say your team are trading for Seguin atm, which player according to you is enugh to get him.

:)

What would you give for Seguin is what the question is.

 that would be an incredibly poor decision on their part.

Yes, you're right. Trading Kessel for a lesser version of him WOULD be an incredibly poor decision for the Leafs.

I'm glad you have seen the error in your original statement.

Now let us get back to the topic at hand, and stop using this thread to try and troll Leaf fans.

For a player making 5.75 mil, not as much as people think. He has not impressed at all this year.

I'm not trying to troll Leaf fans, I like the Leafs and I think if Boston offers that deal they jump at it. Who cares about saving face. Building around JVR-Seguin duo on the top line, and Kadri-Frattin on the second isn't so bad considering some of the d prospects they have and Reimer looking like a number 1.

I can't imagine Boston wanting anything to do with a Kessel for Seguin swap, but if they did the Leafs should take it.

He looks a step behind. It looks like he got way to comfortable in the Swiss league with inferior competition and more time and space.

He'll recover, some guys just take more time.

Players with his skill and work ethic aren't reason for concern IMO.

Well good thing he's not making that much money until 2013-2014 season, then.

Your right, it should read "for a player about to be making 5.75 mil"

RespectYourEdlers 02-17-2013 03:58 PM

Maybe package up Seguin for Kessel

Hamilton+Seguin+Knight for Kessel....seems fair

No, it is not bad. Know what is better than JVR-Seguin, Kadri-Frattin?

JVR-Kessel, Kadri-Frattin.

Leafs are not trading Kessel, especially not for Seguin (who is essentially the exact same player, except less talented). Let it go.

Trembs 02-17-2013 04:05 PM

Eller or Desharnais, + 2013 2nd Round pick + 2014 1st round pick + Archambault ( I can see him fitting in Boston)

Except the JVR-Kessel duo is lacking a centreman; the same problem the Leafs have had since Sundin left.

Yes, the Leafs aren't trading Kessel for Seguin because the Bruins wouldn't do that. They know all about Kessel and traded him for draft picks which turned out to be better then most would have projected.

It's not a knock on Kessel, he's a good player and one of the top snipers in the world, but he isn't a player you build your team around. He doesn't bring enough to the table.

Seguin is a potential number 1 centre; a player you can build your team around. Don't be ridiculous.

Because Seguin got 37 goals and 82 points last year? Same argument with no logic or defence to it. Some day Seguin might be better than Kessel but that day hasn't come yet.
