Bottom 6W and Top 6D

Watching the Kings is frustrating. No energy, no enthusiasm. Dont care that they won with this team last year, time to shake it up. Need bottom 6 wingers and a D to pair with anyone and take Greene's spot.

Tired of watching King, Nolan, Penner, Richardson and Lewis do nothing. Also sick of knowing Drewiskie is even in the lineup.

Guys like Clutterbuck, Simmonds. Physical, energetic and hard workers with some skill.

For the backend McQuaid, Bouwmeester, Alzner, et al. Guys who offer up a steady presence back there and come with experience. We'll let the rest figure itself out.

Time to get a move on..

Henrik Tallinder for Loktionov+ :sarcasm:

Seriously though, what would you pay for Tallinder. He's probably your most readily available top six defender right now.

Drewiskie +

The Oilers would like Nolan. Who would the Oilers need to give up.

The Kings don't like the Oilers (Fraser trade, Yak celly) so a deal may not happen

Carl Gunnarsson isn't offensively flashy, but he's the most reliable Dman you can find. And your bottom 6 energy booster just shouts Mike Brown. Or if you're looking for a bottom 6 scoring threat, MacArthur is available.

Big shake up:

Sam Gagner, Nick Schultz, Ryan Jones and a 2nd for Mike Richards and Greene.

Gagner and Jones are spark plugs and Schultz is a reliable D man. Richards and Greene are tough and physical, which is what the oilers need.
:dunno:

Meh, we really can't afford to take on any other defensemen. After trading Tallinder, we'd still have 7 NHL dmen, with a couple kids knocking on the door. If we trade one of our defensemen, it'd be for top-9 offensive help.

Could the Kings help out in that regard?

Devils need to get rid of defensemen, not add them.

We'd be looking solely at forwards or forward prospects. Obviously not getting a top prospect for him, but a pretty good one plus like a 3rd or fourth round pick would fix the Devils dilemma with 8 defensemen.

If Simon Gagne keeps getting benched and looks like the odd top-six forward out, do you think there's any chance the Kings do a Tallinder for Gagne swap?

The Red Wings can offer any one of Cleary, Miller or Eaves with Kindl. Personally, I would rather mgmt keep Kindl but Babcock seems to have a passionate hatred for the kid.

Avs could send O'Brien, O'Byrne, Zanon, or Hunwick for fairly cheap and are not bad when they don't have to play 20+ min/game.
Avs really don't have the type of grinder you are looking for except McLeod and he is probably staying. Kobasew has been good as a wing on the 3rd/4th lately, but nothing to write home about.

IMO Greene is worth more than that package himself. Well, most of Gagner's value.
